After watching a short movie on KZitem made by AI, I took a refreshing break and went to see a live theater performance made by a human being, a living species which is already included in the list of self-endangered species and may one day become extinct, indeed.
The contrast of experience was stark and refreshing but that was the case only because I knew that the actor performing in front of us was a human being and not an AGI-generated avatar. For now, we can stil make that distinction and enjoy the best of both worlds.
But when the time comes when the distinction between what is humanly real versus what is AGI-generated real is not clear, will that be the end of our species in a dystopic future or the expansion into a new consciousness taht can switch at will in and out of the biological experience but will no longer be experiencing life into the human realm 100% of the time as we now do.
The content of the play had eerie similarities to the above thoughts as it describes the perspective of Judas Iscariot, discussing his feelings towards Jesus Christ. Overall, it portrays Jesus as cold-hearted and unpleasant which are characteristics we often attribute to AI. However, the essence lies in Judas's mix of love and hate, so intertwined that even he can no longer distinguish between them, pleading in his confusion and sorrow. It remains unclear where Judas ran to or whom he appealed to...
What is an even more eerie similarity is that this work was created from the dictation of Dazai by his wife Michiko, who transcribed it. In later years, Michiko recalled the following: Dazai, while warming himself at the kotatsu and sipping from his cup, dictated the entire text as smoothly as a silkworm spins silk, without any hesitation or need for correction. Overwhelmed by his unusually stern expression, which was so different from usual, I could only mechanically move my pen..."
