Very helpful. You explained it so well. Whenever l do try to make one, I'll do a much smaller shape to see if I like doing it. I've learned that a project no matter how lovely, just might not be something I'll enjoy doing. So always do a small version. But your fabric books are to die for, just lovely.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. It made me really understand how to put these books together. Do you sew everything in your journals or do you use glue on some of the pieces. I totally love your thought process on the base for your fabric journal...to take this to the next level, please explain your embellishing process after the base is sewn together....have you seen everything on your pages?.....do you glue your embellishments? The reason I'm asking is these pages become very full and I'm trying to picture sewing everything on with your sewing machine.....thank you in advance for your response

Isn't the center stitching on the spine too thick for the sewing machine? I'm having trouble with the thickness going under the presser foot.

HI there thanks for that only problem is i dont have a sewing machine and even if i did i cant sew, could you use glue and what about the spine could i use glue or do you think i can hand stitch the spine? tfs love irene

Hi Irene...don't worry...you can glue all around, but can hand stitch the spine. I had to glue one of my other journals because the fabric was beaded, so it definitely works! Good Luck, hugs, Margaret

+DoreiWulf Hi Dorei! Yes, you can use batting, as long as it has some weight to it. You don't want pages that are going to be floppy. You are going to be adding embellishments to the pages so you want them to be sturdy. Hope this helps. Thanks, Margaret

seriouslyscrapping Hi Irene! Great! You have a sewing machine...let the fun begin! Irene, I don't have a template...I simply use to identical circles (any size you wish) separated by a strip in the center that is about 2" wide. Very easy...give it a try. Why don't you turn your work on the right side so you don't see the stitches?

No need to since you will complete cover the edges. This will also help to keep you project true to size so you don't have to add for seam allowance. Thanks
