I've been having a rough day. My favorite aunt suddenly and very unexpectedly died yesterday and I've been helping with funeral plans. Needless to say, I haven't really laughed recently but after reading this post, I laughed so hard I had tears. Thank you!

@@flamable2596 My special interest is textiles and I've handled a fabric like this before. It feels like a cross between bubble wrap and quilted fabric. But fortunately it is quite rare so you probably wont have to touch it But beware those expanding shirts

This is meant for sculptural pieces that aren't meant to be washed. Some fabrics do stay that way forever tho bc the heat damages the fibers and molds them into shape

The material is either vinyl, pu leather or genuine leather- all of which do not need to be washed. You wipe it down with a damp cloth and can clean it with a good leather cleaner.

I suggest Walmart super cowboy starch in the blue bottle. Spray heavily let 24 hours to sit and then always iron after your fabric is completely completely dry

Its a synthetic fabric- like polyester or nylon. the heat sets it into a new shape.

I loooove this! Can see this technique being used for sea inspired designs to make bubbles or pearls, the wrinkles in between could be painted to be made into the reflection of water that hits the bottom surface… incredibly stunning!!
