Gotta love Kid Ramos. Blasting on that old maple neck Fender like he was going to break it in two. Magic Sam is jumping for joy hearing the passion the Kid Ramos has ripping his seminal Chicago blues licks. Ramos is a great guitarist for Kim Wilson and the T-Birds. What a great band. Just like a locomotive. Get out of the way or get out on the dance floor. Thanks Kid and Kim. You're the best.

Woah, that is a killer Esquire tone. Always loved Jimmie's playing on their album version of this, but Ramos is amazing here. Saw the T-Birds a few times in the early 80s. I thought Jimmie was the world's coolest guitar player back then. He was just ridiculous live.

Looks like a late '62 Concert to me. Brown Tolex, white knobs, and four 10 inch speakers. The "Brown" Bandmaster(and Vibro-King) had 3-10's, with the bottom one in the center of the cabnet. The amp in this video is miked like it has 4-10's, if it was a Bandmaster the mic would need to be about 5 inches closer to the center to pick up the speaker. So I'm going with Fender Concert from October of '62!
Even kalmaan anders gaat niet gaat raak nu al over verhit tis hier zo warm😅😂😊❤

I love this DVD. A great opportunity to get a quick fix of the FT's - or Mr Wilson, in my case. Christ, I think he looks so hot here! Had the honour to meet Kim on a rare visit to the UK in Southampton (The Brooke gig). He and the Band were staying at the same hotel and I got a little star struck, and asked for a photo of him with my husband (who coincidentally had the same look, but was about twice as wide and 6" taller, that he looked like his Minder!). What a really nice bloke he is! In fact he recognised us again the following year at another brilliant gig in Glasgow (The Ferry). I've had a crush on Kim since first seeing them in '79/80 as a 18/19yr old (Marquee Club, London). Please come back and see us sometime soon Kim xxx

Hi Chakirisan It wasn't the players, it was the weird combination of perhaps one of the deepest, most heartfelt, down and dirty renditions of 'Mannish Boy'....GREAT blues, seguing into one of their frivolous 'party' songs from their least Fabulous period, the mid-1980s. The effect was more than jarring! Yes, that DVD is a valuable document. Kid Ramos is a superb player. I love that Gibson Switchmaster he plays in T'Bone Walker's 'The Hustle'. That looks like a very valuable guitar. Take care

You're right-- picking aggressively very close to the bridge has a lot to do with his tone on this. Amps, guitar, sure; but you can take any guitar player and regardless of what guitar or amp they are using, they will still have an identifiable sound because of what they are doing with their hands, and they way they attack the guitar. Good observation, vibroluxor!
