The history of the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia cannot be separated from the role of the British state in seizing Arab territories from the Ottoman Turks, the Arab Revolution, and finally the emergence of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Arabian Peninsula. Britain supported Saudi Arabia after on October 29, 1914 the Ottoman Turks declared war on the alliance of Britain, France, Russia, and the United States.
Since 1517 Turkey expanded its territory to Arabia and abandoned Mamluk rule. Unfortunately, at that time Turkey did not control the Hejaz. Mecca was controlled by Al-Idrisi, and other areas in the Hijaz Peninsula were controlled by the Saudz clan whose territory was expanding at that time, especially after being with Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab. Banu Saud managed to control part of the Hejaz, as far as Iraq.
The influence, and power of the Banu Saud, worried the Ottoman representatives in Cairo. So, a famous cleric, named Mahmud Syukuri Al-Alusi was sent. He gave the Banu Saud a gift of 10,000 gold lira and asked not to interfere with Uthman's trade routes and the pilgrims. Ibn Saud agreed.
However, in 1818, the battle between the Turkish troops and the Banu Saud troops continued. The Banu Saud army lost. In 1824, the Bani Saud rose and established power in Nejd. But again destroyed by the Al-Rashid Clan.
Meanwhile, conflicts and disputes between the emirs (leaders) of the Saudi dynasty were increasing. The Ibn Ar-Rashid clan cleverly took advantage of this condition to control the territories of the Saudi dynasty in Najd and was affiliated with the Ottoman Turks, while the Ash Shabah clan in Kuwait where the Saudi dynasty was affiliated with the British.
The struggle for power between the emirs of the Saudi dynasty continued and led to rebellions throughout the Arab region. The Ottomans also continued to exert pressure and intervention in this region. Seeing such a situation, the British immediately moved to express support for the Saudi dynasty. They tried to dissolve the Ottoman Empire and carried out certain war strategies to expel the Ottomans from Arab lands. The Sharif Husein rebellion took place in 1916.
