Not only does this guy (I wish I knew his first name) masters Maths and Physics perfectly, but his pedagogy is absolutely fantastic. You need to be highly talented to explain things the way he does. And that's only half of it. He is modest (never appears in any of his videos, you only hear his calm voice), not looking for fame but just doing his best to help students, always goes straight to the point without useless blah blah, with simplicity and tons of examples, thus making every lesson extremely enjoyable. In addition, he is a hard worker: if you visit his channel you will see he has made so many videos it's difficult to count them.

@@TheJoey3590 Could you explain the SOAP method?
@TheJoey3590
5 жыл бұрын
@@hadassah1965 Use SOAP as an acronym to remember the signs when factoring sums or differences of cubes - SAME OPPOSITE ALWAYS POSITIVE. Going left to right. Say you had the sum of two cubes : (A^3 + B^3) and you wanted to factor it. You would follow this template : (A B) (A^2 AB B^2), but you forgot the signs. Following SOAP, the first sign would be the same as (A^3 + B^3) which is(+) therefore : (A+B). For (A^2 and AB) it would be (-) making it (A^2 - AB) because of the O in SOAP meaning opposite of the first sign, which was positive. Lastly, for (AB and B^2) the sign would be (+) because (AP) means always positive. If you followed all the acronyms correctly, you would end up with (A+B) (A^2-AB+B^2) as the factored form.

You're really saving me here, Organic Chemistry Tutor. I didn't work hard at math in highschool, as I planned to go into the trades. A few years later, I needed two hip surgeries (at 21!?), which changed my plans. I decided to follow my passion for nature and the environment. I know I'm destined to be a scientist, but unsure what I'll do as a profession. I'm starting university and I realized I had degraded to a fourth grade level in mathmatics. I learned from watching you. You taught me. I couldn't multiply two fractions a few days ago, but now I'm neck deep in algebra and understanding it. If I want to work for our planet, I need to understand this math. Thank you, thank you.

The whole concept of "Factoring Polynomials" is basically like selecting two interdimensional shapes from some kind of magical bag and then disassembling them to their basic one dimensional components to eventually form a one dimensional "phrase" that represents both "if" combined.

I’m going to be honest. Your accent keeps me interested and awake. I hate math; I am a theatre kid. That’s my college major. But your accent makes it interesting to me and it NEVER gets monotone or boring. So THANK YOU 🙏🏼

Doc Playz it helps me. It doesn’t have to help you. I like his voice. You don’t have to. Believe it or not, people can have different opinions. So if you don’t agree with my opinion, don’t agree with it! But don’t come on here and be a dick, because all that does is make people think less of you. Have a good day asshole

@@smiley.rylie.g4415 thats not an opinion, its a fact. His voice is monotone. That is a fact. You can enjoy his voice, thats your opinion, but his voice is monotone, wich is a fact

For the problem at 20:51, could you GCF 2 instead of -2? That's what I did and got the answer of 2(x^3-4)(x^3+7) instead of -2(x^3+4)(x^3-7). Is my answer correct too? If not, then could someone please explain why does a negative 2 have to be GCF instead of positive 2?

Can you please explain to me how he took the variables from each term and made the degree of the variable go down? An example would be at 2:55 - 3:32

[19:54] How am I going to know what is the signal of the GCF? I tried solving this problem considering the GCF was a positive integer, but then I struggled going anywhere else, because I came across an expression that is apparently impossible to solve in the set of real numbers: 2(-x^6 + 3x³ + 28). I can't think of any two numbers r and s such that rs = 28 and (r + s) = 3. Anyway, is there a general rule to define the signal of the GCF term?
