Update; don’t make the mistake I did. The tie rod end I put on the pitman arm belongs on the driver side. That is why figment was odd.

I can’t find that part specifically, I think the part number says ES3624, is it just another tie rod end?

I'm still waiting for someone to come up with a wandering steering issue on low mile "tight" 2nd Gen front end. No one seems to have answers... everything anyone talks about is high mile worn out Blah Blah Blah. Dodge had a serious steering flaw on second GENs from new that no one seems to know how to fix😕

It could be play in the steering box itself. A common mistake is a shop will tighten the steering box which makes it harder to turn the wheel but doesn’t actually eliminate any play caused by worn out parts. Check your track bar too, I replaced mine and it helped out quite a bit, I made a video on that aswell.

I have a 2002. Sometimes when I turn it feels like it’s 4 wheel drive and also tire rubbing other times it’s normal. What could it be

Have you checked your front axle shaft u-joints for play? Is the front suspension modified at all and what’s your wheel/tire setup?

Should of ditched the stock Y steering for 4th gen or crossover steering its so much better also factory track bars are crap too

Yeah I’ve been trying to research the 4th gen conversion but can’t find too much on it. As for now this will work all these parts together we’re less than $200 and anything will be better than the way it was before. My current track bar has not been bad but I will probably upgrade eventually as needed. No death wobble

Forgot to add, some claim factory wheels may scrap the tie rod, some say it doesn't. Any that have said they just took a bit off the tie rod with a grinder

Nice, you’ll really enjoy it. Thankfully the 01 axles are very beefy. Plus all the components are easy to find and not so bad to install

2001 5.9 4x4 .. about ready to do this same job, mine is a 1500 though. Any suggestions, I've never done this before, I mean any suggestions that were not mentioned in this video. I'm doing it because it needs done, and my steering doesn't center after I make a turn. The not correcting itself issue is a dangerous one. I. Thinking the issue could be the steering box for that particular issue .. idk tho.

Hey man my only recommendations is before you begin make sure you have all the parts and tools required to do the job, then just take your time. I just replaced my steering box as well and it helped with some play too

Wow, i didn't think people still to this day, with ALLLLLL the info out there, STILL put on OEM front end parts. No one does that man. Waste of money. Move up to Gen 3 which fixes all the Gen 2's problems.

Depending what steering you have it should not be too hard to do, first bolt in stabilizer on left side and then allow it to expand to bold into linkage.

@@ronneh7541 I know what you mean now, try using a pickle fork that’s what I used, you can pick one up at autozone or any auto parts store and you’ll probably use it on other stuff too
