As someone who served for a decade in the military, I can say with certainty dealing with people who hid their lifestyles. Homosexuals are some of the most honest, and patriotic people I got to work with. In those days, they hid their lifestyle, but you could always tell, and no one really cared. They knew who they were, had a lifestyle they preferred, and didn't have any delusions about their physical reality. However, for the few I knew who turned out to be trans after they got out of the military, were some of the most emotionally unstable and depressed people I ever met. I really think severe depression tags along with transgenders, because biologically they are not the other sex.... Yet, they have a delusional belief they are something they are not. They have literally lost touch with reality. It is a terrible mental condition that needs to be helped and treated with empathy, not placated and appeased with political correctness.
@alkaliwreck2474
2 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I don't have a repulsion to a person suffering from gender dysphoria and/or body dysmorphia. I hate that society doesn't actually try to help them. They are just people experiencing the hand they've been dealt; society is reinforcing their confusion and lack of self acceptance. We don't encourage people suffering from schizophrenia to accept their perceived reality, we correct the chemical imbalance and provide psychotherapy. Yet, with "transgenderism" we encourage the delusion, nearly praise it, and physically mutilate them to match. Of course they don't see it like that, they're the one that's trapped in the psychosis. Supporters want to believe they are the empathic ones, "helping" them, like giving an addict in withdrawal a hit to "ease" their suffering. I understand the empathic reasoning, but it's an error in judgement and only easy for you. I hope one day we can help people find peace with themselves instead of use their suffering as political brownie points.

@alkaliwreck2474
2 жыл бұрын
@@ohthehorror31 Let's look at other body image conditions that we accept as psychological conditions. I think anorexia is the most relevant to this topic because the person suffering thinks that there is something wrong with their body and can end up seriously damaging their body over a false perception of themselves. Anyone that actually cares about the person with the condition, would not encourage them to skip meals, but to develop a healthy relationship with food and their own body. I don't doubt that a transgender person is uncomfortable with their body in their individual experience. However, I don't believe the compassionate thing to do is indulge that discrepancy with their physical form by enabling them to destroy their healthy body. I can't speak to what exactly each individual feels, but I can say for sure that their consciousness is in the body that it is, and cosmetic surgery doesn't change that. Gender bending roles and behaviors is one thing (and honestly acceptable to me), but the inability to accept physical reality, as defined by the collective experience, is something different.

Isn't it amazing how we have 1 side openly trying to stop people listening to all sides of the story and different sources while another side tells you yo double check sources, watch different content and figure out how people twist things around. News will twists words or flat out lie. For instance an article stated "Donald Trump says the most dangerous cities in America are Democrat run. They aren't." but in that very article they show the top 20 most violent cities with the top 19 being Democrat run and the last being.....independent. Even when they listed the top 20 most dangerous states 17 were Democrat run, 2 were independent and 1 was Republican. They act like this proves Trump wrong but if you throw 100 punches and 99 land you didn't lose just cause 1 punch missed. They proved Trump right again all because they know most people only read the titles.

@@Aaroncarter95 But that's using context-free specifics to win an argument. Most of the heavily populated cities are democrat run. @@PJBonoVox my point is they were arguing Trump was wrong even though they proved him right. It can't be purely coincidence that Democrat run cities have a higher than average crime rate. Technically Alaska has the highest crime rate per capita but that's cause the population is low. Behind it is Detroit which contributed to half the increase in gun and knife crime between 2019 and 2020 alone. I live in Tennessee, a Republican run state, and the biggest cities in my state are Knoxville, Memphis, Chattanooga, Murfreesboro, Nashville and Jackson as of 2020 numbers. Of these state only 2 are Democrat run and those 2 states each experience higher crime than the others combined per capita. Now I'm not saying your city will see higher crime just by electing a Democrat or will see lower crime if you elect a Republican. I'm just saying sometimes correlation does equal causation. Not always or even majority, just sometimes if something is repeated time and time again without changing the rates maybe the cause is the same. For example Europe all but banned guns. They saw a 28-47% drop in gun crimes(source and location depending) but saw upwards of 40% higher knife crimes, 25% higher robberies(stores and houses combined), 17% higher hit and runs, bombings doubled(from 3 to 6 so you don't accuse me of exaggerating) and crime as a whole increased 47-61%. This all happened in the years after guns were confiscated.

Ben also has a very deep religious side to him, and that can skew his beliefs in a direction I don't agree with, however more often than not I do agree with him. It is indeed a fact that more black men and children are gunned down by other black men and children than there are people who are killed due to racism or by police officers. Why people are willing to completely overlook this and not try to discuss it is a point of contention with Ben and people like myself, because solving that problem would protect and save more people than beating a dead horse over and over again about fringe cases that seemingly get infinite media time.

Even though I'm left-leaning, the arguments I'm hearing from the left in these past few years are not convincing, even on issues where I agree. No matter how much you believe your stance is correct, you must be able to argue and validate it. For example, when talking about biological gender, Kleinfelter syndrome gets brought up a lot as an argument against biology defining gender, which is a very weak argument, since an exceedingly rare condition is used as an attack on the vast majority of "normal" cases (normal here is used to describe quantity, not quality). It is equivalent to claiming that you can't say people have 46 chromosomes since trisomy (Down syndrome for example) exists. My thoughts on the transgender debate are that people have the right to self-expression and deserve tolerance and unbiased access to public services and employment opportunities. Tolerance does not imply the level to which society must buy into your self-expression, that is a freedom afforded to any individual. I liken this topic to religious freedom, people are free to have any faith of their choosing, however, this does not obligate people to say they believe in God to Christians, Allah to Muslims, Jahwe to Jews, Buddha to Buddhists et cetera.

The thing about Ben that I personally like is the fact that he doesn't soften reality because people don't like it. He doesn't let people dismiss reality because it makes them uncomfortable. If you teach a child that reality is maliable, they grow up and try to make reality conform to them. When it doesn't, they get frustrated, upset, and angry. If you teach a child that reality exists independant of belief, and teach them what reality is, they will learn that their actions have unchanging consequences. Denying reality doesn't change it. Accepting reality and learning to work within it is the lesson Ben teaches every time he gets into these discussions.

@@munchkingod no it's a compromise something we used to do with subjects like religion and politics. Found that people would actually have discussions without offensive results. We used to be more united as people against the government. We all knew they were corrupt could have discussions without people getting offended. What we have now is a cop out. People don't know how to handle someone who disagrees with them. Instead of agree to disagree now it's I don't agree so your wrong. No discussions just I don't agree with you. Like a opinion is the same as facts. It's a form of conformity only surrounding yourself around like minded people. That's how cult mentality is formed by getting rid of diversity with different points of view. That's why we've got democrats that vote blue no matter who and republicans that follow cult mentality like trump. This is what happens when sides are more about conformity instead of learning to listening to different views. You never learn anything new by not learning to agree to disagree.
@munchkingod

@@azaleataylor8031 I respect that, but my point is that agree to disagree has become synonymous with well I can't argue with your points so I'm just going to stop talking to you. Let's say that you tell me 2+2=4, and I say something along the lines of that line of thinking is patriarchal and racist. Then you prove mathematically that 2+2 does indeed equal 4. Me using the agree to disagree argument would be a cop out, because I would be unable to logically defend my position with facts and instead resort to putting an end to the conversation.
@azaleataylor8031
2 жыл бұрын
@@munchkingod for starters it's a fact that 2+2=4. The other is a opinion. I think racist gets used as a cop-out instead of actual debates. I know racist people that don't consider themselves racist, because they honestly believe their better than other races. Would you consider someone racist who doesn't see themselves as racist, over someone who admits their racist? Also your idea of racist could be different than someone else's how do you know who's correct? That's why accusing someone of racism isn't the same someone actually being racist. When someone uses emotion instead of logic it shows me their inability to understand the bigger picture and shows me their flaws. Emotions aren't meant to make decisions about our lives. They have a important place to show us if we're in danger or feel secure. Emotions are meant to help us feel compassion towards others and to help us find what brings us joy and security in our lives. People that can't get passed their emotions will never understand the facts over opinions. A comparison I'd like to bring up is, let's say you look up at the sky. And one says the sky is blue and the other says the sky is green. They both can't be correct so without asking.What would you assume about the person who says the sky is green? Would call him racist without asking him why? My point is if you took the time to ask why the sky looks green perhaps because he's colorblind. Wouldn't know unless you ask. Or perhaps he's got sunglasses that distort the color. The point is there's always a reason to disagree and if accusations that have nothing to do with the problem are your solution. Then how would you find the truth without asking simple questions and listening to different points of view. Whenever someone brings up something emotional ask them to explain why it's relevant to your facts?

There is so much falsehood going around and very little honesty, people like Ben need to shock people into the truth." Ben Shapiro is telling his facts, and his truth. Not everyone aligns the same, and we should respect those people who want to be known as who they wish to be known. That said, it also shouldn't offend anyone when someone calls them a man when they want to be called a woman, either. Not everyone is going to agree with you, and you shouldn't disrespect them by attacking them into calling you what you wish to be called. I'd rather be contend with who I think I am and who I actually am to myself. I normally don't care if someone considers me something I am not. I have a conviction, and I usually stick with it until I change my mind. In my opinion, Ben Shapiro isn't doing this for the truth. He's doing it to fulfill his daily appetite for narcissistic supply. Yes, I think he is a narcissist. However, I have a feeling that trans lady who threatened him is also a narcissist.

@@7evolance so what you're saying is you actually came to everywhere in the US and you went to everywhere in Europe and that's your conclusion . Because trashing people or places you've never been to are lived or stay only based on what you've seen on social media or TV it's kind of ignorant and uneducated and I expect far more maturity in a conversation with someone from Asia cuz yes I'm from Texas educational system is s*** compared to that in Japan or China yes we know that but for the Americans who put in the same amount of work and studying and researching possibility you might have met someone who's your match. Most uses of brutal honesty, as it is called, is an excuse to be cruel. There may be truth in it, maybe even a lot of truth, but what good is speaking truth in a way and at a time that ensures it will go utterly unlistened to?

Ben Shapiro makes such colloquially distasteful arguments, but he does it on the back of facts and logic. That's why I love him. "Facts don't care about your feelings" is a legendary line. The statistics support his argument whether you agree with him or not.

Even if the whole "facts vs. feelings" thing is technically true, more often than not, the people that chant that line are just using it as an excuse to be complete assholes to others.

Stop pretending facts are on his side. He's both distasteful AND factually wrong. For example, in the first clip he straight up lies when he says misgendering trans people does not increase their suicidality. The study he cites says on THE FIRST PAGE that the suicidality of trans people are statistically 40%, but among those who endures harassment and not being socially accepted as their gender of choice (so to speak) increases suicidiality upwards of 60-70%. This is near impossible to miss if you actually read it. He claims his only source says the opposite of what it actually does. And you trust him blindly. And yeah, as the other guy mentioned, he also doesn't believe in global warming. And he's a religious fundamentalist. The crime statistics he uses in the third clip could easily be used to draw conclusions about institutional racism, or a million other things, rather than something being wrong with "black culture". FFS, these are the kind of arguments that the KKK uses. Facts don't care about your feelings, indeed... Do you still love him? If you aren't a hypocrite, I think you should start calling him out, and stop listening to him blindly. Perhaps he shouldn't even get a platform, because he can't be trusted to be truthful about his own sources? You could perhaps fight to get him cancelled. Would you really want someone you think is a "colloquially distasteful" liar, who doesn't argue with facts, being peddled in front of hundreds of thousands of gullible americans? You either care about facts, and argue against him, or you still love him because you have bigoted and racist feelings, and you want to seep in your hate.

Shapiro is a beast. If you want to learn how to debate, specially on "hot topics" such as gender, race, individual rights and whatever else, you must drink from this fountain. He always puts facts before feelings or opinions, and that's what made him hit the spotlight - and also get a target on his back. But the guy is tough and keeps on shapiroing.

Don't call him names, don't get offended, speak and bluntly and plainly as he does, and you will win out if you are making a valid point.
