Hopefully this will help: be kind to yourself you are doing great. You took action! Keep going. Time is going to pass in life regardless. If you love this field, continue. Press on. The setbacks are teaching you perseverance, persistence. Rest but don't give up. Someone somewhere is depending on you to do what you started. You are absolutely worthy of reaching your goal NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES! People often forget that success takes the unpaved path. Sending you light and love 🙏❤️

If a nursing school kicks you out for failing a course, DEFINITELY hire a lawyer and FIGHT IT!! Don't let ANY organization get away with taking your money and not fulfilling their end of the bargain by giving you the credentials you EARNED. My school has a policy where you can fail two classes but anymore than that and you are dismissed. However, I have heard of students who have faught their dismissal and still got to stay in the program. They just had to retake the classes they failed. Some nursing schools are absolutely brutal and do not care about students at all. I can't wait till next month when I can finally finish and go for my license!!

I searched this video because I myself just got terminated from my ADN program two days ago. I was a first semester student and was terminated 2 weeks before my final. My instructors felt I am not at a level that I should be in clinical with my skills. I had good grades in Pharm and Theory, but they let me go. I was so lost, down on myself, mad, but I have decided I am not going to give up. I am very saddened this happened to you. I have been doing a lot of reflecting, yes I made some mistakes, but I am not a failure. Nursing school is very hard and intimidating. I loved taking care of patients, they are the reason why I want to keep going. From my self reflection I learned where my weaknesses in clinical were and while I am awaiting to apply to a private nursing school I am going to keep studying, keep reviewing my skills and do as much as I can to clear my head so I will make it through next time. You can watch all the videos and talk to nurses about nursing school, but until you go through it you have no true understanding. I am so proud of you for making it that far. Don't forget all of the good you did, and all of the patients you cared for. Take some time for yourself. Like NB said, "it's up to you, the decision is yours." Either way you are not a failure. This journey is different for everyone and it is unpredictable. I believe in you. Warm thoughts.

Fight it. The same thing happened to me back in April. I appealed the academic termination. My argument was that one of my fails was due to the Covid 19 pandemic. My school had to switch to online on such a short notice and I argued that this contributed to one of my fails in the program. You can argue that these were unforeseen circumstances that were outside of your control. I was accepted back into my program to retake the one class I have left in the program. I wish you the best of luck!!!!

It’s time to figure out your next steps. What’s your next move? It can be small or a big one. I failed out of one nursing program. I started over again at another nursing program and I’m doing well this time around. The next focus is the next step forward- whether that’s toward nursing or another calling. It’s up to you.

Never give up! If you love it. If you're passionate about it, repeat. Hopefully the credits will transfer to another school. I failed once for my lpn and tried a second time. I graduated. I had to save up and cut bills down. Cut negative things out and went savage mode. Ask yourself is it worth it?

Omg this happened to me. This year. Got kicked out of my program 3 weeks before graduation. My preceptor didn’t treat me fairly or respectfully, and they didn’t take my concerns seriously… I’ve been really questioning myself lately and whether or not I’m cut out to be a nurse. I really feel like me program screwed my over.

One can be very encouraging to a person in this situation but ultimately is that person the one responsible to keep trying and looking for options that will enable the completion of the predetermined goal. If you are reading this because of a similar situation, you and only you have the final the word on how far you will go in your life. If you can't do it in a public school, do it privately, or find some other mean to move up. The worst you can do is to let other people or an institution to determine your future.

Try another school , see why you failed. Reflect , failure is not the end it’s only the beginning. I have a former colleague who passed her nursing school BSN but failed her NCLEX three times. I failed my second semester and l decided nursing wasn’t for me. Analyze your options money and time.

Appeal the decision of kicking you out. It’s the last semester of the program. I feel like they shouldn’t be able to kick you out without a fight. I would get in owing the director of the program.

yeah. its so shitty to be kicked out in the LAST semester. what is wrong with this school? I wouldn't even choose this school if they would kick you out in the last semester tbh. but they're almost at the finish line so they should strut it out but I would raise hell for that school

im trying to find information on why you cant retake a class if you fail it. Does anyone know why this rule is in place? it seems counterproductive because I have re-taken classes and making an A on the second attempt is much more valuable than making an A on the first try because you learn the information in a deeper way. also, the school loses out on money by losing a student and the community misses out on a much-needed nurse.
@NurseBass

Most nursing programs I’ve come across will allow you to retake the class one time. Fail it twice and you usually end up having to find a different program entirely.

@@NurseBass mine allows 1 retake in the first 4 quarters. after quarter 4 (quarters 5 and 6) the count stops. I think its a bad policy and wish I could find out where it comes from and why.
@NurseBass

quinton frost It’s because programs are incentivized to maintain high NCLEX pass rates, in order to remain an “accredited” program. If NCLEX pass rates drop, they’re likely to lose their accreditation. And a student who repeatedly fails nursing courses has a higher probability of failing the NCLEX. Hence why they’re more likely to kick these students out of their program, to preserve their NCLEX pass rates.

Sorry about your story brother.. I’m at term 3 of BSN program and last week I was having a fever and slept thru the Final Exam (because I took NyQuil the night before). I didn’t see any doctor because it was late in the evening and now they ask me to prove some documents and sign Petition Exception letter…. Would u think they will let me pass the class? P/s: my grade is fine it was just my attendance passed the threshold 20%…

I was in nursing school and failed one subject by one point. All that work for nothing. Credits will not transfer. I was told to study for the exam(giving note cards) to study all semester.... Every week. Then when the exam came, it was nothing of what i was told the final would be on. Out of 120 terms.. about 10 terms were on the exam. I was told "Well i have two different exams." With a smerk. So i am sorry for anyone that fails, it's definitely hard💕 If they're heart is truly in it, i would say keep trying. After everything what i experienced... Its not worth it to me anymore.
