Adrienne is exactly right. Too many stories out here of teens and young adults killing their parents after having their iPhone taken away or after their parents refuse to continue financially supporting their lavish lifestyle... Its about balance. I do think it's different when it's a grown adult, like Jeannie was saying about Jeezy, who struggled growing up and could never afford certain things, so they want to ball out with the money they've earned... but I think most of the time, raising a child with this extremely lavish lifestyle does not turn out well...

@td152
2 жыл бұрын
Adrienne and Garcelle immediately understood the point... Yes, when you grow up always having hand-me-downs and cheap clothes, it's natural to want some name brand (high end) items in your wardrobe once you can afford it. But I have several people in my family who have done this very thing with their kids and the outcome hasn't been good with ANY of them. Now that these kids are grown, they can't handle (mentally) NOT having labels even though their legally earned income doesn't support buying labels AND paying for necessities like housing, food, utilities and transportation costs. This is the mentality that can impact a person's decision to sell illegal substances or engage in other illegal or unethical activities...you get my drift. I'm not saying it's the ONLY thing that contributes to a person going down that path...but it can be a factor. Kids do not understand how hard adults work to get the money to buy anything, let alone high end wardrobe pieces. The only way for them to learn about it is for them to work for the luxuries they want themselves. Obviously, there's nothing wrong with high end gifts for birthdays and special occasions... But unless the child is going to inherit major money, then it's not good to encourage a high end lifestyle as if it's always going to be that way.

To everyone saying they don’t care because it doesn’t affect them: It does affect people who are being used for slave labor though. It does affect people whose environments are polluted because of fast fashion and waste of materials. We are so individualistic it doesn’t even make sense her actions absolutely affect other people in a negative way. And guess what even if it doesn’t affect you directly you’re living in a world with people who are suffering and negatively affected by these things every day, so whichever way you think about it you will be directly affected because now you live in a world with more income inequality, more depression, more fear, more crime, more pain. We all live here on this Earth together so let’s not do things that can hurt other people or the Earth itself.

You basically made the same comments they did. It’s OK to share your opinion on what other people are doing with their kids and money because… 1: your kid will eventually be involved in our society and interacting with the rest of us. 2: we live in a world and country where wealth inequality exists, so many people are struggling to live and stuck in poverty, a lot of those namebrand companies that wealthy people buy from use slave labor in other countries that are more poor than us. There are actual big issues here to talk about/brainstorm solutions to, so why do you think that’s weird. Shouldn’t it be more of what’s best for the child and what values ur trying to instill. Just the idea that any person who has a child can do whatever they want with their child is ridiculous, and is a reason why many kids resent their parents later on in life because their not parenting with the idea of seeing them as autonomous beings but projecting just what they want. Kids at a young age grow out of things so quickly they don’t know the concept of regular vs designer clothes. This mom is clearly projecting because Is it ethical to teach ur child to only dress in expensive name brands? Its clearly more for the parents than it is for the child, especially since she’s doing this at such a young and impressionable age. And There’s nothing wrong with name brands if the mom herself has chose that lifestyle where she only wants to wear name brands that’s her but exclusively dressing ur child in that manner is weird

Because most people who have nothing live vicariously through their children wealthy people working class people like doctors and lawyers who can afford to buy things of that nature do not invest their money they invest in their education

Adrianne’s point went above all their heads because they’re out of touch with reality. 😌

I love dressing my child up and i could be obsessed but it doesn't have to be just,it's more about being presentable.

On a side note Loni is right a dress for 100 dollars is expensive and not everyone can afford that much

It’s all so hypocritical. Spending money on a Gucci set for a child is always going to be a waste of money

To put your kids in designer but you can't afford it and neglect yourself is crazy. I would do it for special occasions but not everyday even if I could afford it.

I believe in looking good, and creatively expressing through my look, but I don't have to spend a lot of money, I can repeat looks, and I can choose to dress down. The price tag or name brand idea is more cringe. Because sometimes you don't even know unless it's said.
