These wonderful people turned their backs to the hostile people who drove them from their homes, and journeyed across the country. They traveled a trail of blood sweat and tears towards freedom from extreme persecution. They blazed a trail of faithfulness, hope in Christ, a love for God, and for all mankind. Their legacy of faith, and desire for the freedom of all mankind will never be forgotten!

This story reminds me of how Israel came about. Meaning, the Jews were able to establish Israel and build it up, being fruitful and prosperous. No one in their right mind thought Utah would become such a huge city, full of prosperity, but the Saints did, because they knew what was prophesied, thankfully they walked by faith. The members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, during these times certainly were inspired, blessed to prevail, and show that prophecy was fulfilled. As we can see, Utah truly is a place of history. I am certainly grateful for these pioneers, and their great character, integrity, and strength as a whole.

I’ve been trying to understand why temple work for the dead is important. This video helped me realize that we owe the dead our respect and to show them our respect we need to honor them with the same blessings we hope and work for. An eternal family.

i didn't have a testimony about baptism for the dead until i went through some hard times, being sober and coming off years of narcotic abuse, i experienced Christ for the first time in my life, i can't explain how prayer had changed for me in such a spiritual way, revelations, Ministering of Angels, in tune with the spirit more because of not eating for 3 weeks, off drugs, sober, reading the word of the Lord, BOM, i was walking on cloud 9 for 6 months, i didn't tell anyone that i knew it was only to last 6 months, lately i find out that John the Baptist ministry was to last the same, 6 months, raised Mormon, i left my faith when i was 15 and came back in 2-14-2005, at age 35 when Christ reveled himself to me, why? because i am a stiffed necked person, wouldn't believe it, unless i saw it, well, I've seen it and a lot more, as the 3rd grandson of Orson Pratt and my 3rd great uncle Parley P Pratt, i know that our Heavenly Father has much more in store for me, my brothers and sisters, and this world. peace and love always. . .. .. . . .

Be careful when wanting to copy and paste your comment….I accidentally erased I think my best testimony of the pioneers. But it is recorded in heaven, so my family on the other side knows, and so will my family on earth one day know.

The term "pioneer" takes on a bit of a different meaning in reference to LDS culture. This period is not in sole reference to the movement west that the country as a whole took, but rather a time where the rest of the country was generally hostile to our church and the LDS church was shot OUT of all their previous homes INTO the west. I don't mean to sound pushy, and I sincerely apologize if the video wasn't clear enough on that front, my friend. I hope you will take the time to learn more about our history. It is very important to us.q
