Underrated? He's consistently discussed as being one of the top frontmen / vocal athletes in all of rock despite being in considerably less successful bands, right there with Freddie Mercuy / Axl Rose, etc. Oftentimes he's discussed as being the best.

@@brandall101yes. He and Mercury on top. The reason he was “underrated” is because he wanted it that way. He wanted to be underground. I really think he purposely made his style buck the system, whenever he started to write a normal pop song, he would ruin it… and I freaking love that

The only negative I have with Patton is that he's impossible to sing along to in the car without sounding like a total prick. I can't hit half the notes he can. My whistling got better though.

His work as Nathanial Merryweather in LOVAGE is some of his best vocal performances. This and EASY are stand outs and put him in my top 5 singers. Chris Cornell, Rob Halford, Mike Patton, Ronny James Dio and Ed Kowalczyk. Thank you Mike for all the material and hours of contentment.

Hehe...I was too young fortunately...but caught up a little later for a little while...but I did go to meet up with the band and JM on Rohypnol from recent surgery..lucky I was a shy gal and didn't use it as a confidence booster or talk too much or make a fool of ma self.. apparently not bc Mike came and talked with me quite a bit. Though JM was there with me on one of the tours..his last leg of it..sad that they parted ways to be honest. Very sad. JM and MP were very cool and cordial and even laughed at jokes together..but I still felt the weird feelings between them every now and then. Still all in all I was pleasantly surprised.✌🏼❤💜

Years ago, in my bartending life, a customer got very excited. "I've got you tattooed on my leg! You're on my leg!" "oh, really", I replied. She lifts her skirt, there on her thigh was a tat of Mike Patton. We do look alike. He's got more range than I do, but I'm closing that gap.
