SirSlimeington I loved how WW actually gave Link a family (and didn’t have them immediately die). Still, it would’ve been nice if Aryll actually got returned to Outset to be reunited with Grandma and Link properly during the game. (And seeing the Pirates randomly sailing around, probably nearby, that you could check in on. And have a few stationed on Outset to keep guard in case Ganondorf retaliated like they feared. Oh, and them putting Piracy on hold in favor of defending the scattered populations in preparation of things going DOWN.) (And having Tetra actually join Link on his later adventure. She’s more than capable of taking care of herself/the safest spot is next to Link even though she did Just Fine while constantly on the run (as did her ancestors)/it would’ve been REALLY nice to have a companion who could defend themselves and the non-combatant Sages while Link was otherwise occupied. Plus...sealing her where only a triforce user could enter (thus needing the Courage Shard reassembled) was pure arrogant idiocy. Ganondorf still had HIS, your moronic majesty!)

Ralph, from Oracle of Ages. You're both trying to rescue the oracle Nayru and you cross paths with each other a number of times throughout the adventure. But if I remember correctly it's just unclear what, if anything, Ralph is ever accomplishing on his side of things. They could definitely do more with the idea than that game did, though. Add in some scripted moments within a few dungeons where you see the other guy through some windows in a different chamber which you have no way of accessing yourself and you have to cooperate with each other (maybe swapping control between the two characters?) to solve the puzzle so you can both continue. Let the other guy show up and unintentionally help you by playing the part of distraction when you encounter a stealth segment. And whatever other ideas they could come up with.

Ravio thinks his world was once Hyrule, but then when Link himself appears to save that current version of Lorule, he's shocked to find out that he's not the Hyrulean hero he thought he was, but actually Lorule's. It's then that he learns of the past history Lorule long forgotten. Ravio changes from wearing green to purple, then joins Link in the battle against evil! Hey zeltik, i have a theory for you. While I was playing Majora's Mask, i noticed in the opening area that there was some kind of spotlight upon further investigation, i saw that there were three triangles, similar to the triforce, but with the triforce of power split from the triforces of wisdom and courage. At first i figured it was termina's version of the triforce, similar to the triforce from a link between worlds, but then i realized no one in termina seemed to wield a triforce piece. Also, I remembered (i think it was from one of your videos) that majora's mask was on one of the designs for ganondorf-the wielder of the triforce of power-'s armor in twilight princess. To support this, both majora's mask and twilight princess are in the child timeline. Based on these facts, i believe that majora's mask and the triforce of power are somehow related. (note: i was playing majora's mask on the original nintendo 64 version, so it might not be in the 3DS version)

Blond, blue-eyed boy with pointy ears is born and named Link. As a young child he shows off courage few children have. But is he THE Hero Reborn? Nah, mate. He just ticks literally all the boxes of the legend of Link, a male Hyrulean who is reincarnated whenever needed and one out of three destined to bear a piece of the Triforce. I seriously love Zelda but the people in that universe just comes off as either extremely ignorant or blatantly stupid when it should be WAY more obvious than it seems in-game when a new Link (as in THE Link) is born. Sure, each Link looks, sounds and acts different enough to the point where they are their own individuals. But they're still Link. It's still one soul being born time and time again and each time, while slightly different, should DEFINITELY give away Link's role when he grows older. Hell, some incarnations even have the Triforce mark on his hand before the "grand adventure" starts and STILL noone seems to get it. I just had to rant for a bit here. Love the series and I can definitely look past this. But it still doesn't make that much sense to me.
@marzipancutter8144
5 жыл бұрын
By the time each new Hero rolls around, a *lot* of time passes. Enough for history to fade into obscurity or at least be significally distorted. It is also helped by the fact that between reincarnations Hyrule is often hit by at least one catastrophe that would destroy a lot of records. It also takes significant technological advances for a culture to really look far into the past, hence why in BotW the scholars do understand the pattern and immediately recognise Link as the chosen one. However, as the general population is often closer to the medieval age in terms of technology, and there rarely seems to be any decent education, so you really can't make the argument that they should recognise him from whatever vague distortions of legend they get left behind past a few generations.
@PurpleSnake
5 жыл бұрын
@@marzipancutter8144 Huh. That's actually very interesting. Honestly. I never thought about how the common populace's lack of history-preservation aids in people not understanding that Link is THE Link. Doesn't Windwaker Link count as a fake? Since it was stated over and over again that he's not the true hero, he just used pure will power to force the gods to accept his access to everything the hero normally gets. No because as you said he forced himself to become the chosen hero and a new hero is born with a new Zelda and Demise which predates the timeline split so there would have been an actual hero in that game Also, what is the source for WW link being not the chosen hero?
@HerrTuring
5 жыл бұрын
@@goggles8691 Yep there is. I came here just to comment the same thing about WW Link not being a hero to begin with. While it is quite true he turned out a hero, he was not chosen. One of the things the "true hero" in wind waker would be expected is understanding hylian, and that you only get in master quest. I think that there are some conversation between the king of red lions and I guess it was Jabun (the big fish in outset island) that implies link was not chosen but simply went to the quest on his own. It could be said that while most links are moved directly by a call from something or by the princess herself (being her a reincarnation of hylia, that is important) this one was simply going to save his sister, heroic, but not as world saving as the quest ends up being.

Let's not forget the Hero of Winds. The legendary hero lookalike who stepped up and managed to achieve everything that the missing hero's spirit were destined for, from claiming the Master Sword and Triforce of Courage to even putting down his timeline's Ganondorf for good. Granted, he became a true hero in his own right, he just weren't THE hero that we expected him to be.

Phantom hourglass was my first game, so the meta joke of Nayve's existence flew straight over my head XD still, now that I've played Wind Waker, I can finally appreciate it! Also, I'm pretty sure he's just a guy trying to grift off if the hero's myth, not a guy who actually thinks he's the hero

Now I think about it, legend of Zelda series are like a legacy of a religion. There’s specific people chosen by the gods to beat the evil and there’s a new one comes every century (generally). It’s really similar to real life religions. There’s gods that created hyrule, people chosen by that gods to stop and seal evil, A demon that comes with the hero every century, and a woman to help the chosen hero.

Okay, maybe you've noticed, maybe you haven't, but in the Wind Waker, Tingle, Ankle, and David Jr. all have clocks worn on necklaces... all stopped at different times. I forget which times, but it seems like one's stuck at 4:00, and the other two are also on the hour rather than the minute hand pointing anywhere else; it's just the hour hand that's at a different spot. Thoughts?

Regarding topic ideas, is there any evidence explaining how the Zorah and Rito co-exist (specifically in Breath of the Wild)? It's something that's always been on my mind.
@MuljoStpho
5 жыл бұрын
I don't have or know about any evidence, but I've just sort of assumed since we first learned that that was going to be a thing in BotW that Valoo already had his own tribe under his care long before the Flood led to him taking on responsibility for Zora refugees as well. My idea is that he used his influence (through that scale that he gives each child when it reaches a certain age, as mentioned in TWW) on the Zora over the years between the Flood and TWW to reshape the Zora to resemble the ones who had already been under his protection previously. His original Rito would exist in any timeline regardless of whether or not anything like the Flood scenario was able to deform another species into new Rito.

The Link in Wind Waker isn't really Link either, it's a different boy and all boys when they reach a certain age in the Leandge of Zelda have to wear green. And he became the next Link. It even hints it in the begging if you pay attention, like when he first saw Link's outfit. He thought it was weird looking and didn't want to wear it but did anyway, and besides. That's not how Link acts, and also the real Link doesn't have a sister

I know that what I’m about to mention doesn’t qualify as a fake hero but this one dresses just like him, Fado from Wind Waker is an ancestor of the Kokiri and has a striking resemblance to Link with his hair and the way his hat is along with his outfit. The other defining feature is that he plays an instrument a defining quality almost every Link has to them. He also happens to be a sage and one of the guardians of the master sword. The best fact about him in a guide of Wind Waker is that he is stated to be a great friend to the Hero of Time.

Hey Zeltik, maybe you could cover this in a theory sometime. Is there anything in the series that gives orgin to the Shiekah's source of magic? Who granted them their powers or were they created that way? Or magic in Hyrule as a generalized subject- it seems most of Hyrule cannot use magic save for a few variant characters like Twinrova, Vaati, the triforce reincarnates (zelda/link/ganon), Shiekah, Twili, ect. It'd be fun to poke around and explore what kind of rules LoZ magic tends to follow and explore the orgins of such magical powers as they are manifested in these variants across Hyrule/ other places. I mean, I guess we can settle for "the goddesses granted them", but is there a direct lineage of inheritance we can trace? Things like that would be cool to see, if such info is available. What do you think?
