@@kingcosworth2643 it’s a human rights issue. The US is 53rd in freedom. Some basic human rights in other countries aren’t in place for US citizens. That’s the real problem. Cold War US was a propaganda machine. Anything that wasn’t hyper capitalism was communism. And anything that was communism was bad. That’s why Americans are afraid of the word ‘social’. Tbh, I’m surprised the US has drinkable tap water. I’d think Americans would call it a commie plot to let the lazy man drink of their dime.. If everyone has a home, education, healthcare, a life, then crime practically vanishes. Do you know why Norwegians can leave their babies outside their homes unattended to sleep in the sun? Do you know why the Irish can leave their front door hanging open all night? Do you know why the Belgians can leave their cars unlocked? Because nobody is going to commit crimes that might cost them their lives. Give someone something to lose and they won’t risk it. Americans have nothing to lose so nothing to risk. Hence the daily massacres and crime rates. Americans say ‘only in the US can you become a billionaire’ etc etc 1) just completely false 2) that’s a weird thing to brag about, you’re literally saying ‘I’m from a country with so few human rights, someone else can exploit me to make billions. Take that euro trash!’ You’ve been fooled into thinking ‘it could be you’ or to share the accomplishments of other people simply because you live on the same pile of dirt. For anyone who actually would like to help the homeless here's an idea for you. I make goodie bags and keep them in my truck for when I see someone in need and they are always very thankful. Here's a list (I buy the travel size stuff usually so I can afford to make more of them) Socks (#1 asked for item) Toothbrush & toothpaste Deodorant Hair comb Bar of soap Shampoo Roll of TP Writing pad & pen Flavor packets for water Few bottles of water Something with protein like beef jerky or peanut butter crackers Something with sugar usually a 2 Pack of Oreos Sometimes I'll add enough quarters so they can do a load of laundry if I'm in an area where there's a laundromat. Its also helpful to keep little personal first aid kits on hand if anyone needs one. I usually wait until someone asks for one of those because some people here will try to resell them Edit: Wow I just noticed the attention this got that's pretty cool lol. I was homeless with a twisted ankle. I've slept in some relatively uncomfortable places, but I've never gone out of my way to make myself uncomfortable by sleeping on a pile of rocks or glass. Most of us at that point would just opt for the grass somewhere or the local shelter. I've only panhandled a few times. -At the time my ankle injury required physical therapy which my insurance covered but until then i couldn't go back to work. I was also on crutches and had an ankle brace (yay) I was extremely grateful for everyone who donated. I got food/snacks, ibuprofen for my ankle, a few dollars, cigarettes, handwarmers/gloves etc . Someone gave me a bus pass with a week left on it and i was ecstatic. Different things from different people, but they all had one thing in common- none of them recorded, and all of them treated me with respect. That being said, it was still humiliating. I didn't approach cars and i didn't ASK for cash, but i still got dirty looks, people who insulted me from their cars or said my injury was fake. I guess my point is that homeless people in the real world are dehumanized enough. How the creators think this is okay in any way boggles me

One year I helped make a Christmas morning meal for the homeless people in my area. I was tasked with oatmeal duty, and someone complained that I had burned the oatmeal. It was a totally fair critique, I accidentally did overcook the oatmeal. I bring this up because often people who never interact with homeless people don't realize that homeless people are just regular people. They're not animals. They're not going to shovel down whatever trash you give them to eat. They want healthy, delicious food, same as you. Most homeless people would likely react to a truck bed full of ramen noodles by just being "what the actual fuck", not, "oh, wow, thank you so much for this trough full of unhealthy, bacteria infested garbage!"

It was horrifying to watch them film themselves approaching what they had allegedly been told was a dying kitten on the street alone, sick and weak. It continued to be horrifying as they proceeded to show off the kitten to the camera instead of immediately giving it the help and care it needed. Every minute can count with a sick kitten that young and even after they retrieved the kitten and took them to shelter they continued to put more time and effort into the filming than saving the kitten. The difference between that video and one of someone genuinely in it for the cats and kittens was painfully obvious and turned my stomach.

My art teacher goes to Kensington every week and actually feeds the homeless and helps whatever addict needs help get into treatment. She even goes out with another non for profit with portable showers. She gets little attention and it irks me that someone like this gets even a tenth of the attention it’s gotten. I know she does it out of the love from her heart and her higher power but I wish she had this much attention in support. If anyone is interested in seeing her website let me know ❤️

He hands out some of them and drops the rest off at the homeless shelter to give out the rest. His name is Milad Mirg and the food isn’t wasted for the sake of content. He hasn’t posted one of these in a while but the message in those videos still stands. Being homeless isn’t an easy thing and I’m lucky I haven’t been.
