FAW (Spodoptera frugiperda) larvae can feed on more than 80 plant species, including maize, rice, sorghum, millet, sugarcane, vegetable crops, and cotton. Generations per year and the moth can fly up to 100 km per night. Fall armyworm egg on the underside of the leaves, freshly hatched larvae move downwards to leaf sheath and feed on inner tissue, as well as the growth and development of larvae that time larva moves in the stem and feed on the inner surface.
The life cycle is completed in about 30 days during the summer, but 60 days in the spring and autumn, and 80 to 90 days during the winter.
