One of the things I appreciate so much about your decorating style is that everything is so interesting to look at. Thank you once again for sharing your tips with all of us! (And PS: my home doesn't have cutesie pumpkins, scarecrows or "Hello Fall" signs, either. And I'm keeping it that way!)

I like this type of decorating very much, using family pieces in fall colors rather than tons of faux pumpkins from Hobby Lobby or some such place. I do love pumpkins and will put some out. Here where I live it's still in the 90s so I'll hold off for another week or so. Thanks for the inspiration and I enjoy seeing your lovely home!

You mention that many of your treasures, now antiques, belonged to your grandparents. It's plain to see why your 'Haul' differs from other KZitem decorating channels. How lucky you are to be the recipient of so many heirlooms, which reminds me of a gentler time when life in America was celebrated and good. I enjoyed your video.

I so enjoy watching home decorating videos, particularly for fall and Christmas. However, I have been feeling like if I see one more containing those Hobby Lobby hauls I might scream 😂Your version of haul is right up my alley and I thoroughly enjoyed following along with you and learning your thought process. You have created such beauty with your cherished pieces and treasures from nature. I hope you will continue to make videos like this. They are like a breath of fresh air in YT land.

I haven’t spent any money for fall decor for years so I appreciated this video. I pull from nature. I grow corn and acorn squash. The cornstalks decorate my wrap around porch; the acorn squash I use for decor in my kitchen and eat as we go. My son throws his old pumpkins into an unused part of the garden and has pumpkins yearly so I’m asked if I’d like any. I dry my hydrangeas, along with sedum and pinecones and make wreaths. My brown transferware and amber bottles I’ve thrifted for many, many years. I have many old brown crocks given to me by family so I also use them. You are quite correct….there’s no need to purchase decor. It can be had for a small pittance at the thrift store, handed down pieces from family or from nature.

Sounds like we have exactly the same taste in decor ... and squash! Acorn squash is a family favorite, for eating and decorating. I always keep some in an arrangement, unless it was recently consumed and on the shopping list. Unfortunately, I don't have the sun or space for a vegetable garden.

Since I rent an apartment I don’t have much room for storing a lot of seasonal decor so I use things that work all year long such as dried lavender and eucalyptus branches and muted/earth tone colors (this goes well with my primitive, American colonial decor). I do have a few ears of Native American corn in a dough bowl that I accompany with some edible squash.
@stonecottageadventures304

Love your ideas for using what you have! I love to use season squash and used to use dried corn ... until the mice got into it. My husband staged an intervention, so I no longer use corn.

Thoroughly enjoyed this! I'm so tired of seeing " cookie cutter" decorating! There is no need to break the bank by keeping up with the latest trends and painting everything white, then sanding it down to make it look old. Good design never goes out of style! Shopping our homes and bringing out cherished family treasures moving things around and adding some natural elements from nature and creative placement makes a home cozy, welcoming, and timeless. Thank you for inviting us into your home and inspiring us.

I have items gifted from family members that fill our hutch that I will never get rid of even when they aren't necessarily what I would have chosen. They stay because of the memories associated with each person. I make them work along with other timeless pieces from travels or thrifted pieces. I don't feel a need to switch them out. But I do love to shop my home as I switch out items seasonally in other areas of the house. I agree that I don't need any "Hello Pumpkin" signs or pillows to enjoy the season! 🤣

I love pumkins and gourds. I buy real ones that are nubby and various shapes. I also have some wooden pumkins and rattan pumkins. I make dried hydrangea and cattail hydranggea and magnolia leaf arrangements. I use sweet gum balls, small pine cones and nuts as they fall in bowls,as well as prickly thistle pods. I use baskets, rattan trays, and amber and green dishes with a large wooden scalloped tray in the middle of my dining table. I use a large painted ginger jar and giant apothecary jar to put fall items in.
