On the ones that aren't producing well. At the end of the season, if you stress the plants with less water, they'll ripen quicker. Nice job. Good video!

I am confused all this work and all you grow is tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, pumpkins, and some potatoes? Which is great if you can live on salsa year round, what kind of prepping is that?

+C. D. M. Well my grandfather would not call himself a prepper, but he always had food canned for use during the winter and they supplemented the food they purchased with that from the garden. So if you look at "The Complete Prepper", it's more than beans, bandaids and bullets. There are two parts to prepping. Self sufficiency and Self reliance. Gardening is the Self Sufficiency side of it. If you had to use just your stored food, that is the Self Reliant side. So think of gardening as supplementing your stored food for taste and to make it last longer. Those are just two points that are covered. Gardening is also a Skill that needs to be practiced in order to be useful when things go south.

Do you feed the soil or feed the plant?

Travis, I am building soil, I started with improved dirt as I put it. I used Triple mix and local compost 50/50 to start the bed. The Triple was just to heavy alone. Then I have added chicken dropping from our girls after aging along with other Organic options. I did use a general vegetable food that was organic for all plants, just one treatment before it got hot.
