Ok Mili I know I have told you before, but as someone who has worked for the fashion industry for a long time I ADORE YOUR VIDEOS! I was gonna send you a DM but I think you deserve the public praise because how you edit, how dynamic you make your videos and your creative take on knitting is just right down my alley and so refreshing!

Thanks for sharing your ideas and plans. I enjoy watching your videos. I can't wait to see your finished MW Orkney, I love the colors you chose for this project. The pink really stands out, how exciting! I won't be going to Rhinebeck this year, that was my goal in knitting the Maple cardigan. Maybe one day we'll meet at Rhinebeck with both of us wearing our Maple and Orkney sweaters😊 I posted a couple pics of the finished Maple on Ravelry yesterday. I included a photo of the back side with the tangled yarn mess before weaving the ends 😅

Ooh I will have to go check ravelry to see your fresh Maple sweater! It is such a beautiful pattern, so I do hope you get to wear it to Rhinbeck or another knitty event in the future 😍 Maybe one year all us Marie Wallin fans can meet at Rhinebeck and take a picture with our sweaters 🤭 I started knitting my orkney this week and am already stressing about all the cut yarn ends. I imagine with intarsia it's even more stressful 😂

@@whatsmilimaking That would be awesome with all of fangirls wearing our Marie Wallin knitwear and taking a photo together! When I knit fairisle in the round, I do spit and splice when joining new yarn. Maybe try that, will be much less weaving in the ends or none at all. Gudrun Johnston has a tutorial video on the spit and splice. I forgot to mention, have you seen the pattern by Debbie Bliss "Brae"? I think that's similar in design to the sweater by Molly Godard. Good luck!

Loove all your ideas and inspiration! For sewing patterns, maybe you'll like Hubba Ding. I love her style so much and I've been meaning to make one of her dresses for some time now. I believe they have quite good reviews as well!

Hi Millie, Take a look at Debbie Bliss's "Brae". The design is similar to Molly Godard's Fair Isle sweater. Good luck with your Rhinebeck sweater!

I love the idea of a seasonal mood board. I'd be interested to hear your recommendations for where you've found good sewing patterns. I'm so used to Ravelry and I feel like for trying to get a bit more into sewing beyond just making basic project bags, I don't even know where to start.

I am on the same boat as you!! People have been leaving helpful recommendations in the comments so it may be helpful to read those. I'll definitely also share them in a future video! So far, in my minimal sewing experience, I've been buying patterns on etsy from designers I find on Instagram. They have testing groups for their patterns so I like seeing what the patterns look like on people of different sizes and shapes before purchasing, similar to how it is on ravelry!

So far I am enjoying it! It has a crisp feel too it, and I love how vibrant the colors are for a non-superwash. It is not as soft as other merinos, but I'm not sure if that will change with blocking? It reminds me a lot of purl soho's good wool, but perhaps a bit thicker.

If you want to adapt the clothes to your body shape I feel like learning how to make your own patterns/make adaptations would be better and less expensive compared to buying them for >$10 each ❤❤️

That's a good point, and I would like to learn how to make my own patterns in the future! Alas, I know very little about sewing garments so I feel more comfortable purchasing patterns at the moment. With a set of directions, I think my success rate will be higher 😅
