Concluding the Fallen Oak stave snare drum project. I begin by routing my drum rims, then move on to sanding, epoxy filling(not part of my normal drum building routine), staining(also not part of my normal drum building routine!), finishing, assembling and playing!
Apologies for the very poor audio during the summary at the end. The drum sounds like garbage on the video when I am tapping it, but it really does sound great when beaten wildly with a stick. You'll just have to take my word for it.
I'll probably continue to make videos, more for my own entertainment than anything, I suppose. I'd like to get better at it. Plus, when archeologists find one of my fossilized drums at the bottom of some tar pit, a million years from now, perhaps the KZitem videos will have survived and they can learn how to make their own. Or maybe they can make a wax figure of me in my dingy green hoodie and baggy jeans. Would look great in a "suburban man" diorama at the Museum of Pre-Apocalyptic Cultures. "Ancient man had very little hair on their heads and dressed poorly. This was an adaptation caused by television and video games, which protected this culture from damaging rays of the sun and from awkward social interaction." But I digress...
Thank you to the 27 people who have ever watched my videos and especially you 16 who hit SUBSCRIBE. I do this all for you. Huge party planned for when my subscriber count hits 20....
