Come back here to listen to this song often. Was a college freshman at U. of Maryland and SHF played Cole Field House for the free beginning semester concert in '74. Brings back a lot of great memories. Too bad they never got the attention and radio play they deserved. Furay's singing is still awesome!

One of my favorites from 1974! Too bad they couldn't make lighting strike twice! The original album is very good, the second unfortunately sucks big time. They were created to compete against the Eagles... like that was going to happen..!

+Videos On Page 1 Actually, you hit the nail on the head --- "they were created." One of several "super groups" put together by the record companies back in the day. Most were one-ht-wonders, but few were truly successful. The big problem with such groups was always the thunder-clash of big egos. Too bad because, like you, I thought some of 'em were pretty good.

Oh, I was a huge fan of Poco. I saw them live once, at the Hollywood Bowl. They were the opening act for a Peter Paul & Mary concert. "Pickin' Up The Pieces" had just hit the charts. Their performance was magnificent, including material from what would be their next album. The line up was Furay, Jim Messina, Timothy B. Schmit (bass, vocals) Rusty Young and George Grantham. That second LP, simply titled "Poco," was a masterpiece, and we who were at the concert heard it first!

You were a lucky fan. I saw POCO a couple of times during the Paul Cotton, Timothy B., Rusty Young years and once at a later date. Just a great band and Rusty Young always had great players in that band.

If you've ever heard, or get a chance to hear, Poco's DeLIVErin' album, that's almost exactly the concert we heard. The album was recorded in Boston and elsewhere, but that was the program. Check it out if you can.
