the thing is, people shouldnt compare it to metal, because its not even TRYING to be metal. its a theatrical gothic symphony piece. its just a different genre lmao.

Yeah, I really like how these tracks from, at this point, years, (honestly, at least a generation,) are being revisited so wholly and given a tone that shows the musical growth. I doubt many can deny that tons of work went into making the music here. It's not just notably different, or subjectively better, but practically a way to tell everyone that they gave enough of a fuck to revise their original work. And I'm sure there are people that hate this, but I think the whole point is to show their musical growth and general talent that ought to be seen. This is another example of great musicians making music that doesn't just fade from what the public believe they can like. And an example of how to take of a piece of music from the past, and change it in a way that shows all the effort but into becoming a better musician. (Excuse the odd grammar: it's a bit late...)

His past few release follow a structure of Rap/hiphop verses, more punk or rock esque choruses and then a metal breakdown back into the chorus Personally I’m a fan of the older song and absolutely love the remake. I feel like with so many reaction content creators, they have so much pressure they "need to like" things everybody likes that get recommended. I really admire Ronnie for just doing what he wants and all things hes doing are certainly different. But i think this was not the best track for such a theatrical performance. IMO he should have changed some of the lyrics. This is not to take anything away from the performance,i simply enjoy the original uplifting high energy version more.

“Whiskey is my holy water” in other words,it hurts him... or kills him. Great reaction! I’m an older, metal lover and I commend you for giving it a chance. I’m hooked on Ronnie! He portrays his emotions through his delivery and sound of his lyrics so well! He gets you... just there. Lol What I get from this song, between the original and the revamped, is that the original is the unapologetic, party animal, having fun.... addict. In it he’s not thinking about what impact it has on others. The revamped to me is a more mature look back at his addiction and how he didn’t think he was a monster but in reality he truly was and Paige (the woman in the video and his irl girlfriend), I believe is a representation of how much he hurt those around him with his actions. In the video, it’s the discovery that he is a monster(where she walks in and finds him feeding) but in the song alone, I believe it’s bigger than that.. When the Lynch mob comes and he just stands there and allows them to kill him, I think that’s his resignation, his giving up because he acknowledges how much he’s hurt those around him that he loved the most. Anyway, that’s just my take on it. I am guessing that’s the song that you tried to listen to a few years ago, and gave up 40 seconds in, was Popular Monster. I think it would be great if you would give that song another chance. It is all Ronnie and you’ll get to see a lot of who he is. It’s a lot different of a song than you would think by just listening to the first couple seconds Ronnie reacts to reactors on twitch. It’s quite likely that if he hasn’t already, that he will be reacting to you soon! P.s. Ronnie is redoing these as a thank you to fans. Yes, you see vampire teeth in the Drug in me is reimagined and that was an Easter egg that this one was coming

So I never gave falling in reverse a chance (strictly off of the hair-metal look they had) until, well popular monster... but my early-mid teens were filled with things like ADTR, MCR and the ilk, so hearing their original stuff now feels almost nostalgic for me. The whole pop-punk, post punk core type thing was my thing for a while. Also, the songs just sounded stupid originally. Like "I'm not a vampire" was like an "will the twilight fad ever fucking end?" But after actually listening to the lyrics, you find they're way more deep than it looks. And in that respect, I give ronnie full credit for being an amazing lyricist/vocalist. Don't care for some of their stuff... but overall some of their songs hit me on a very personal note

So I definitely see the My Chemical Romance comparison, and it’s kinda crazy to me because My Chemical Romance are a big reason Ronnie became famous initially. MCR judged a radio contest in 2005 and Escape the Fate won the opportunity to open for them and Alkaline Trio, which then led to them getting signed by Epitaph Records. Ronnie’s story from then leading up to this point is incredible to me and it’s crazy to see his musical evolution.
