Hi, nice review, but the blade is not lam. VG 10, that´s the classic version. In the pro line it´s made from lam. COS.

Savings. If you want one good lifetime blade that you can pass down to you kids then when there is a will there's a way.

I've got the regular F1 and I absolutely love it. I have a first generation A1 that is solid VG10 and I love that too. I've always wanted an S1 and just never bought one. I think an S1 Pro will be in my future. I love Falkniven knives. I don't believe the Pro series uses VG10 though. I'm pretty sure they are using their Cobalt steel as the core.

If you add in the case, and the stone, and everything it comes with like the better steel then yes.

For a while I also tried to save my edge by scraping with the spine but I realized these knives have such unbelievable edge retention that I dont mind using the edge for anything anymore. Thats one of the luxuries you pay for when you buy a knife like this.

Interesting.... you prefer the A1 over the S1? How come? Isn't the A1 a bit too big? Thanks. PS - what's the awesome guitar music at the end? Lovely melody....
@TJackSurvival

Too big is relevant to hand size and strength. For someone it's too big for other's it's perfect and again for some, it's too small. For me, it's a perfect blade size. I think blade size is best measured relevant to handle size. You can carry a very large blade with a balanced large handle. It's when you have a blade to big relative to the handle that problems start and I feel that the S1 slightly steps into that realm. I get all of my music from the youtube library or epidemic sound. Sorry, I can't remember the name of that one.

I've been using Fallkniven for about two years. Since this is s new model I've been using this one three months if I remember correctly. I put them through hard use but I don't improperly abuse them. So far all I've had to do is use and strop sharpen occasionally. They are hard use blades that should last a lifetime. I honestly can't say anything bad about them. I'm leaving out tomorrow for a military thing and taking my S1 with me. If that doesn't speak volumes about them than I don't know what will.

Cold steel stole the handle design so this is in a class far beyond cold steel. Way better steel, better grind, better over all construction in this blade.

Hi, I like your review. I am looking for one of these knifes. This is taken from the web site. The laminated VG10 steel is replaced with a laminate cobalt steel (lam. CoS) which, amongst other things, ensures a durable edge and improved edge retention.
