The soundtrack for Fallout 2 was composed by Mark Morgan. On May 10, 2010, it was released together with the Fallout soundtrack on Morgan's Vault Archives album.

Ah... this composition... It speaks of serenity, tranquility... peacefulness... of being "One with the Earth"... It's truly immersive, innovative, and evocative. The synthesizer in the beginning provides a very ethereal, otherworldly feeling, leading into drum-beats, chants, violin, and woodwind instruments, giving it a primitive, natural feel, which just... wow... it takes you into the world. Allows you to feel at peace, and connected... it's wonderful. Mark understands Fallout, and Fallout is truly beautiful, when understood.

I love the violin, easily the most nostalgic part for me. and the plus it's kind of a motif when it's used for New Reno. This song resembles the people who are living through this new world and thriving. Where as New Reno is the complete opposite. The seedier and darker truth that lies in the wasteland and in people. I maybe thinking into it too much, BUT HOT DAMN IT'S GOOD MUSIC MARK HAS COMPOSED.

Always associated this as a swan song to the Vault Dweller from FO1, weirdly enough. Like the whole tribe has a monument to him, they can't stop talking about him, you're of his bloodline but at the same time there's pain (also because the tribe is dying) and a wanderlust. After struggling and being unable to settle down and teach the V13 refugees that followed him he went to go find his end in the wasteland of which nobody knows where or how he died which is how I see the wind beat in the last few seconds of the song. At the end of his memoirs he leaves saying he did what he could his way and for that he was exiled along with all the sadness behind it despite potentially saving the whole world and by killing the Master. It all makes sense in hindsight to me.

Being used to the gameplay of newer games I had a hard time for a while getting into the older games. They won't hold your hand almost at all compared to 3 and NV. I also don't like turn based combat that much. The games are worth playing through though, even just for their stories. I would recommend using the fallout wiki walkthrough guide for character creation but not going further than that to prevent spoiling. I spoiled the game for myself. In retrospect, a bad decision but then again i was more focused on finding out the story then enjoying the gameplay experience. I would also recommend the restoration project patch for Fo2. It ads a ton of stuff, quests and locations that the devs didn't have time to feature in the final product and gets rid of a load of bugs.
