Far harbour really did a good job of representing north eastern culture, from the forests to the ocean, from the red outhouses with the moon doors. It even got the sailor attitude and slang down. The music really added to the atmosphere too

+Speedy Cord That is pretty consistent with the post-Bethesda Fallout series. F3 and FNV both pale a bit when compared against their DLC offerings. DLC are smaller in scope so the stories are more tight. You get to focus on the core story told without having distractions thrown at your experience at every turn because the base game is so massive.
@jusey1

Oh god, I love the story of Far Harbor, even how different the ending can be depending on the choices you make. Hell, you can even end up doing a complete Pacifists route with the story and kill no synths, Far Harbor people, or Children of Atom. Literally. Or kill everybody, which is completely possible. Let the fog kill the Far Harbor people, blow up the Children of Atom, and murder the synths for the Brotherhood of Steel, if you really want to. Which is nice, having so many choices and possibilities really made the story stand out and much more fun. Can't to play it some more. Plus ,the new puzzles? I liked them myself. Can't wait to see what modders does with that idea.

I found a way to make peace between the BOS, Railroad, and Minutemen in the main game so when I made it to Acadia, I have the option to tell a mysterious NPC that shall not be named that I am an agent of the Railroad and a soldier of the BOS. I found this hilarious because the two factions have such different opinions on synths and I can use both lines of dialogue, making my character look schizophrenic or confused.

A few things about this DLC: -It's absolutely massive, even bigger than most people I know were expecting. There are many more areas than the map points on the island, and there are some very interesting side quests. -The main story is quite good, and I found myself getting through every little step, anticipating the next one. The change in location really lends itself to the different feel of this DLC verses the original game. -The block puzzle is quite time consuming at the end, but the information you get is neat and probably worth the time to get there. -It runs absolutely terrible in many places on the PS4. Seriously, I very much hope there are some optimization updates, because there are situations where you're working in the 5-8 FPS range. The fog really kills the rather anemic (but generally optimized) hardware in the PS4. That said, it generally runs OK, but PCMR would have none of this for sure. -The vendors on the island refresh their supplies frequently, and they carry some items specific to this DLC; I am not sure if installing this DLC will generate these items back in the Commonwealth, I haven't spent much time there since installing it. -You will occasionally be given settlement-related quests even when all the way out on the Island. It's sometimes annoying if you're in the middle of a long quest-line, but you get a lot of time after you're notified.

I am absolutely back in love with this game, thanks to this add-on. The location and physical make up of island pulls you in and keeps you so intrigued, you will be exploring for ever. The story take you in and holds your attention, to the point that, you will forget sense of time and want to keep progressing the story. I do not have a rating personally yet, I haven't fully played the narrative completely yet, but it will be ranked very high on my list. Way to go Bethesda!

This dlc is amazing I love the feel and mood of the island (reminding me of the island I go to in the summer for the beach) and the creatures are so much more fun and cool. I will admit I may be biased on the cool factor as the commonwealth had grown old on me; but even still remembering what I felt the first time stepping out of the vault and the first landing in the island. Far Harbor gave me a better experience. The story was better, the characters were better, and the factions were better. The whole dlc is the base game but better. I wish this was the main game not dlc. I never thought I would want dlc for dlc. I honestly want Bethesda to expand far harbor and but a bigger $40 dollar dlc on it

I was surprised there was a peaceful ending. I just finished it today and it was fun. I liked that you didn't only have one choice for each faction like the main game. Exploring the Island was also fun. I rarely fast traveled because the Island is loaded with distractions. I was doing a quest where I was trying to reach a location, but I got caught up in this huge battle between a Legendary Enraged Fog Crawler, a few Anglers, and mirelurks. It took me a long time to kill all of them and I had gotten easily distracted. Far Harbor also feels more dangerous. Locations are swarming with enemies and if I didn't have ballistic weave or a boatload of stimpaks, I would have instantly died at places like the Grand Harbor Hotel or MS Azalea as both are full of enemies. The new companion was also a very good one. He's pretty chill with whatever you do as long as you don't become addicted to a certain faction he hates. His backstory was also pretty good even though it was similar to companions like Deacon or Maccready. I think the main faction bases could've been a little larger. I would also have liked to see main game factions you sided with fight DLC factions other than Acadia that you sided against. Overall, I think Far Harbor was a really fun DLC. It's worth getting. It had more storyline than Automatron and the other DLCs and it felt like its own game. I only hope Nuka Cola World is as good in story. I'm expecting maybe a legit raider companion unlike an ex-raider like Cait. Anyway, if you don't have Far Harbor, GET IT.

You see man, as a die hard skyrim fan, I openly acknowledge witcher 3 as the superior game. while the gameplay and open world and movie rivaled that of skyrim. bethesthda's champion stood no chance against the ultimately superior story line of witcher 3. however there is a worrying trend that has begun to approach. last year, despite overall a much better game, the witcher didn't make nearly as much money as fallout 4. while i understand that fallout has a bigger fan base, it wasn't even as good as skyrim. this made me worried that game companies might be willing to sacrifice gameplay and storyline just so they could be on a larger market to earn more profit.
@osamahassan1450

+laween hamza Tbh hearts of stones wasn't really that good (compared with the rest of the game), I adore TW3 and like you, im an elder scrolls and fallout diehard fan, but seriously though, hearts of stones was interesting but didn't quite pull me enough. Thats why im sure blood and wine would be way better because its the last thing for the witcher series. And why are you even afraid for CD project. All those awards certainly made them known to the common "Casual" gamer and people will want to try their games and such. I had many friends that didn't know anything about the witcher franchise, but bought the game due to all the awards they got.
@laweenhamza
8 жыл бұрын
Osama Hassan I see what you're trying to say here, but awards are one thing, money is another thing. All i fear is for CD Project to abandon their level of quality and go for where the money is.

laween hamza Ok but you just don't get it. How do you think bethesda got to its position today? By getting shitton of awards and recognition from games like Elder scrolls morrowind and daggerfall.When these games got awards, many people started knowing the company and start to love its games. So for CD project its just the beginning.

one other thing he forgot to mention there is a decent amount of unique weapons and Armor in this dlc which ive spent pretty much 80% of my current time spent playing collecting them as well as some fairly useful random loot drop legendary effects including ones that cause more damage when aiming, more damage resistance when reloading possibility to immolate a melee attacker when they hit you and so on.

Half time you said "Far Harbor" I heard "Bar Harbor, which is a real place that is the actual setting for Far Harbor, I can even spot where my house would be on the Far Harbor map :) So funny to see a video game take place on the island that I live on, seeing such familiar names as Cranberry Island, Acadia and Eden (The town of Bar Harbor used to be called Eden). Oh, one goof they made: On Bar Island, the Longfellow house IRL was Jack Perkin's summer home. The Longfellow house IRL is in Portland, Maine.

It's funny to see all the mindless slandering on Fallout 4, I bet it's easy to join the stream to hate on a game you were wanting to hate from the start. No game is perfect, if you don't personally enjoy the game than good for you, but attacking the fans and creators of the content isn't going to change anything and it isn't going to make you special. No one is forcing you to buy the game or DLC, if you want to respectfully and maturely critic and state your opinion in a civilized manner there wouldn't be a problem, but its all you immature people mindlessly attack fallout like it hit your mother, some people just need to remember its a piece of entertainment, nothing more, nothing less.

I'm currently mid-way through Far Harbour, I think I've found all locations to make getting around quicker, but it's an environment where if you're not wearing power armour, then you'll chew through Rad Away One disappointment for me with the new weapons is the harpoon, it's so damn slow, but like a bigger version of the Railway Rifle - it pins thing to walls, but the 3 second reload makes it almost unusable!

Just for the record, you don't *have* to bring Valentine with you. For narrative purposes it helps greatly, but you're not hindered mechanically for leaving the clockwork dick at home for this one. Case in point: when it became clear that ol' Nicky was going to have an issue with me joining the Children of Atom I sent Him home, didn't bother keeping a companion around after that. And a good thing, too. Because I'm pretty sure everyone except Dogmeat would have been upset with me leading a mob of angry Harbormen in sacking Acadia, then subsequently shutting off the condensers surrounding Far Harbor and letting it get wiped out by a pack of gulpers. Glory to Atom.

Only 7/8 new weapons, while Old World Blues had like 15, next to that the quests in NV were way more rewarding, with a stable pace of new unique weapons for an example. The creatures are okay, but i feel that the should pay more attention to the weapons & items. And even next to that, i always never could make the goddamn decision in NV to decide which faction i wanted to join. the factions were so much more interesting, i just couldn't choose between the NCR or the Strip & Mr. House. I never even finished the game in a month just because i wanted to find every unique piece & item in the entire game.
