How I quickly built an inexpensive fallout shelter using a 1960's US government plan. I go through my whole process:
-Rough plans for the fallout shelter
-Logging my own poles for use
-Digging the trench
-Covering the log poles with plastic to keep them dry so they don't rot
-Placing dirt on top of the plastic. A fallout shelter needs at least 30 inches of dirt, I have roughly 40 inches on average
-One more layer of plastic to help drain water off the dirt
-Final shallow layer of dirt to hold the plastic down
-Tree limb pile to help disguise the fallout shelter
