Great episode. My brother is a gay man and I know that in his future he sees himself with a family - I will definitely recommend this to him!

Thank you so much for all of this great information. My wife and I are planning to expand our family in the next 2 years and there is soooo much to learn just about being queer parents and what we need to be prepared for on top of parenting alone.

As a woman, who has been in a heterosexual marriage for almost 21 years, this is my take on why some politicians don’t want an LGBTQ+ person/couple to be a foster parent or adopt: They believe they have to “protect” the children, because they think, that a LGBTQ+ person/couple would “raise” a child to be queer. Unfortunately, because of their ignorance, intolerance and fear, they don’t recognize that that’s NOT how this works. 🤦🏻♀️ With that “logic”, no heterosexual couple/parent should have “raised” a queer child. They just use every excuse they can think of to discriminate against the LGBTQ+ community out of fear of the unknown and the refusal to educate themselves (some due to religious beliefs and some due to ignorance/fear) and it’s driving me insane. I could go on a rant now about how some heterosexual “normal” people/couples (with or without religious beliefs) are 100 times worse as a parent than a LGBTQ+ person/couple would ever be, but that’s for another day. I’m sending you lots of love, respect, support and positive energy from Germany ❤ You both are important in this fight for TRUE equality for all humans. ❤

I saw questions last night on why you and Jordan shouldn't just adopt and those commenters asking that obviously don't understand how hard it is for families to adopt, especially when it comes to Gay Couples... It's heartbreaking😢

The emotional cost of adopting/fostering cannot be overstated. I love that some have the capacity to do it but it’s simply not an option for some of us. 💔

I agree with Jaymes that a lot of folks are uneducated, BUT a lot of these folks DON'T WANT to be better informed or even recognize our existence. I beleive that education YES is NECESSARY but, we'll have to keep battling some fights that won't be won with education or information. Love from Brasil 🇧🇷
