I'm a caregiver for my daughter with disabilities in Georgia (Cobb County). The agency who pay me as caregiver said that I cannot have a second job. They require me to take care of my daughter at least 5 hours, obviously I do more than that; but if I want to have a second job, like a one part time or any other from home, I'm not allowed to do it and I don't know why. The payment I received as caregiver is not sustainable to pay a health insure or to cover other home expenses. It's something else that I don't know about to have a second income? I appreciate your help. Thank you!

You're very welcome, you definitely should contact an elder law attorney near you to discuss (we only handle Florida).

Hi Millie - yes. Please email: outreach@elderneedslaw.com and scheduling@elderneedslaw.com (or call) and we'll set up time to discuss Personal Services Contracts, Family Caregiver Agreements and other ways that caregivers can get paid - in a Florida Medicaid Compliant Manner - for helping their loved one.

So true. With Florida Medicaid planning in general there are no "magic wand" solutions (in other words: all planning tools have pros and cons).

What state do you represent? I have heard it differs from state to state
