Reminds me of the dumbest policy corporate has ever passed down: I was working at Pizza Hut, but one of the delivery only pizza huts. The layout was such that you could hear everything that's going on in the back, but you couuldn't see anything. You could only see in the window where they hand the pizzas to the person on register. Anyway, behind that barrier which you effectively can't see past (but can hear everything) there is a rolling oven, and at the end of the oven track, you've got the table where you put the pizza in a box and cut it. The cutting table is about 15 feet from the front counter with a thin wall between the front and the back (again, you can still totally HEAR everything. Corporate comes by one day and decides that the steel top on which we cut isn't getting cleaned often enough... So we need to turn it into a game!!! :D YaAaAaAaY! i LoVe WoRk GaMeS! Oh happy day, right? Ain't that the most corporate thing you've ever heard, but wait 'till you hear what the game is. The new game is... if you stand at the cutting table for 10 seconds and no pizza comes through the oven, one of your coworkers can shout, "10 SECOND RULE!" and you have to spray down the table and clean it off. Oh what FUN AMIRITE! When the corporate person said this, I looked at her and said, "So you want us to be back here shouting "TEN SECOND RULE" many times a shift where customers can hear us but can't see us... and then you want us to box up their pizza and hand it to them mere moments later? What would you think if you were a customer and experienced that?" I'm not sure if she understood, but she doubled down and said , "Well that's what you're doing" [And of course we didn't actually do it. The moment she left, we ignored her entirely] [If you still don't get the problem, I guess you don't now what the REAL 5-second/10-second rule is. It's an immature joke. Usually the "5-second rule" is a rule made up by children that says if you drop food on the floor and you pick it up in less than 5 seconds, the food is still clean and can be eaten. For example, let's say I drop a chip on the floor and pick it up... but I'm not that worried about the germs. I might jokingly say "5 second rule" when I pick it up and eat it and pretend it's clean.] If you work in corporate ANYWHERE let me tell you something. You are NOT more innovative than the people who do these tasks everyday. If you have legal, health, or productivity concerns, that's fine. Suggestions are fine too. But mandates? No. Mandates and new rules from corporate are almost always completely stupid.

What kind of company are you running were a major injury probably requiring a trip to the hospital isn't reported to the supervisor? Then they clearly did no investigation as there is no way to slap the back and be run over simultaneously. My guess is he jumped down to give the driver the paperwork and someone else slapped it.
