The Winnings have completed a multitude of multi-agency projects on their land; 245 acres of timber stand improvements. Over 100 acres have been planted in native warm season grasses and forbs through Acres for Wildlife. They are part of the deer management assistance program. Dept of Heritage has found several state-listed plants on their property, including county and eco-region records. And they’ve implemented routine prescribed burning across the property.
The Winnings have no plans on slowing down. The farm has taken on another role as a source of native plants and a working model of conservation and agriculture co-existing and providing ecological benefits.
