I'm glad to see you back online a little more regularly. I hope that you are feeling better. Sadly, I learned six months ago at age 60 that I have diabetes. I used to love making a huge batch of your inflation stew as it was cheap and super tasty. But I can't any more. That doesn't mean that I can't still watch your channel and drool over the delicious food that you make. I'll just have to enjoy all the good stuff here in my dreams. 🙂

Don't loose hope. You habits need to change, but there is still plenty of great food out there to eat and enjoy. moderation and some adjustment, but yo can do it and still enjoy plenty of life's pleasures. I'm about 15 years in on this journey and still enjoying life.

I found that Jardiance really helped me control my blood sugars. Maybe talk to your doc about it. Good luck. You got this 👍

@@miho022883 thanks so much. I just got back my latest A1C and it was 5.0 (from 10.3)! Because I currently have moderate retinopathy, I’m trying my best to undo the damage that’s already been done. Perhaps if this improves then I’ll relax a bit, but until then my eyesight is more important than any recipe 😀

My husband L❤VES house egg foo yong and orders it just about every time we go out for Chinese food. I’m glad to see that this can be made fairly simply at home! We’ve in the sticks and sometimes it’s a hassle to drive 45 minutes to get Chinese food. Now I need to decode sesame chicken! We the people thank you for another great video and wish you well!❤

My dad was a Alabama redneck Vietnam vet. His absolute favorite dish was Egg Foo Yung, despite his normal fare being meat and potatoes and ding dongs. He wasn't an adventurous eater. I should have asked him when he first had it.

Thank you. I've had a couple of unfortunate experiences with egg-foo-yung in restaurants. THEN my brother-in-law made his, so fresh and good! This casserole looks really promising, too. I totally agree about fresh bean sprouts. So good when I can get them. My only source for them sells them in larger bags than I use. But I enjoy sprout sandwiches from the leftovers. Also, cook them with ramen noodles and veg for a quick meal. Blessed be! You give us such good information about what we are eating, and inspire us to cook our own thrifty meals.

To have a perfect Chinese marinade you also need to add some egg white and a few teaspoons of starch (potato of corn). The meat will suck almost everything up. The egg and the starch close up the meat when frying and the meat will be much juicier and tender. Please try it! You can also add a little bit of baking soda to make your meat extra tender (but I hardly ever do that).

For those who can't find Xaio Xing cooking wine, a good cooking Sherry makes a suitable substitute, I make an Onion Scalion Beef and It calls for it but I use the Sherry and barely notice the difference.

I recommend adding egg white and cornstarch to the meat marinade. The meat will hold up to higher cook temp / soften up the meat to that Chinese food take out quality.

Egg Foo Young and Hunan Beef are two of my top favorites. BTW, for those that cut their shrimp, if want to spend a couple extra minutes for a prettier presentation slice the shrimp down the back so you get two mirror imaged pieces. They also curl up really nice when cooked.
