The look that Henry Fonda gives when confronted that his wife is no longer alive at the Thanksgiving meal is so very real. He played it so well. I saw that look from my parent. The look that if they what they said is not so, then they are lost, then sad, but dont know what is real. They realize at this point of the disease they got it wrong, but dont really know what is actually the here and now. It is a slow process that steals away...

It almost seems as if they'd be losing that person all over again. He really expected her to be there and when told she wasn't, it would be like hearing she had died all over again and bring fresh grief. So sad!

For the first 3 seasons it was on I forget what night maybe Tuesday at 9 or 10. They actually moved it to Friday at 8 in order to give it a ratings boost but instead the ratings plummeted for the final season so they ended it.

@@XxowendanxX You are correct; it aired on Tuesdays at 10 pm during its first three seasons. During season four, it was moved to Thursdays at 10 and then Fridays at 8:00. And during this final season, it got moved around again, first to Mondays at 10, then 9:00, then Wednesdays at 8:00.

@ArtmonkeyProductions I wish the show would have continued for a few more seasons. Buddy and Audrey go off to the same college, start dating men for real, not high school boys and start getting into careers. Maybe Buddy gets married at some point. It kinda ended abruptly.

James Broderick was only 55 yrs old when he died. It may have been only a couple of years after this was aired.

Doug must have been born in Harlem. He has 4 different fathers.
