I really don't have anything from side of the family, but we have quilts from my husband's mother and grandmother. We also found a cigar box with writing that said, "very important things. Don't throw away." Inside were the certificates for Naturalized citizens hip for my husband's grandfather and other family papers. What a treasure this has been for us and our children....and now their children. It is amazing what our ancestors went through to bring us where we are today. The Bella box is amazing. Memories are priceless.

My grandmother gave all her grandchildren cross stitched pillows, which she cross stitched by hand. She even made the pillows and ruffles. They were quite old so I cut the fabric around her cross stitched art and put them in a frame so I could have forever!

My favorite heirloom is my maternal grandmother's cookbook that she got when she was a new bride. The date on the cookbook is 1933!!! She wrote an inscription to me in the cookbook and I refer to the pages daily. It smells like her kitchen and allows me to feel close to her. She has been gone many a year but she will always be close to my heart and the memories that we shared cooking foods out of her treasured cookbook will stay with me forever. Love and miss my Grandma so much

I am so excited about the Family Tree Bella Box. I just finished watching the replay. I love the Family Tree Wall-hanging and can't wait to get started as soon as my Bella Box is delivered. My grandmother used crochet lace edgings around her handkerchiefs. I received 12 of them when she passed away at age 79 and I cherish them always. I am 75 years old now, so they have been around for a very long time.

My favorite heirloom is a metal mesh, rhinestone embellished, 1920s purse that my grandmother gave to me. It was her mothers. Mammaw had a box, in the basement/playroom with old clothes, shoes and purses for us grandkids. I ALWAYS picked that purse as my dress-up purse. Mammaw gave it to me about 20 years ago. I’ve kept it in my hope chest all these years, and have shared with my kids what it meant to me to have it. So many good memories on Mammaw and Pappaw’s farm growing up, but I loved playing with that purse, and so happy Mammaw passed it down to me 💗

My favorite heirloom that I have received is an antique German bisque doll. I was always fascinated with antique dolls. My grandmother surprised me one day when I was about 13, and presented me with her favorite doll that she had since her childhood. I had no idea that she had saved such a thing. My grandmother had the doll all fixed up and wearing a beautiful dress that she made.

My parents grew up very poor but with much love in their tiny community of farmers & fishers. I have received two treasures. One was my paternal grandfather's oyster knife. He made his living on the water & it reminds me of all the Sunday dinners he provided for us growing up. The other was my maternal grandmother's canning pot. She canned everything she grew and I always enjoyed her canned peaches the most. What great memories you have brought out!

My favorite heirloom is a picture of one of my Aunt's when she was a toddler. She passed away as a child and I have the only picture of her. She was one of 10 children born to my grandparents in the 1930s. The picture is in a beautiful antique frame with curved glass. Her name was Mavie Pauline and I wish I could have met her. All 10 of my Aunt's and Uncles are so special to me. Seven of them have passed away and then remaining three are in their 80's. My M. E. Time family tree will be full. I will need to make an orchard of trees! I'm so excited to get this box. I truly love every single thing in the box!

This year's winter Bella will be added to my family's cherished memories.

I realized that there were too many things to list that were heirlooms. My grandmothers and Mom were very creative, great cooks and bakers.I have items from each and photos. At this time of year, late summer and fall, I’d say my most treasured possession is my mom’s canning book. She made notes, added recipes, and some sibling (and me) scribbles are in it. My parents were big gardeners so it brings back “Harvest Blessings” memories. It even has a letter she wrote sending canning recipes. What I love about this box is the map pillow. Dad was all about a huge atlas from State Farm. We’d all take our turns following the map when going on a drive or trip. That has passed down to me and my kids. That pillow will get made multiple times!

My great grandmother, my grandmother, my mother and myself were second daughters in our families. I look forward to gifting this bracelet to my second daughter in the future to keep this beautiful tradition moving through many generations to come. I think it would be unique to make my family tree with the names of the “second” daughters and pass it along with the bracelet so future generations can have the names of each person that has been blessed with this treasure.

I would love to make the heirloom tree for my grand daughters who are to young to remember their great grandparents on both sides maternal and paternal.. I have photographs and great memories to share with the tree as in your box reveal video. Its hard enough to find the time to relate the family stories to everyone together, this makes it easy for the kids to ask questions about the tree and get to know their heritage in a sew and show fashion. I love the heirloom family tree project!

When I turned 18 my friend gave me a very special ornament- a Bavarian glass blown green pickle. I never celebrated Christmas Eve in my family home so I got to spend it with my dear friend. We would decorate their tree on Christmas Eve and her parents would hide the pickle in the tree. Whoever found the pickle got to open a special gift. I am now a grandmother and the tradition 47 years later lives on with my grand children - they love hunting for this special ornament just like their parents did.

My best heirlooms are ones I just got when home spreading my dad's ashes this spring. I brought home my mother's wedding headpiece and a number of the life-size carvings of birds she created. Or maybe it is the owl cookie jar she always put cookies in or the set of Pyrex bowls where daddy used the big yellow one for making fudge or eating stew. I ate stew from the smallest blue one and use it regularly to think of family when i make stew. The 2 middle sizes were for my mother and older sister. My daughter thinks the most important heirloom is the swarovski prism that made rainbows on the walls of my bedroom when she visited her grandparents and some of the teddy bears from my mother's collection. Too hard to pick just one heirloom item and I haven't even gotten to the wonderful ones from my grandparents and great grandparents. All so much more important now that I live alone and they all hold such warm memories.
