Correction: Ellen Terry was 81 when she died, not 88. And to clarify, at Highgate, Jean Simmons the actress, not Gene Simmons of Kiss.

Karoline Smail Agreed, Alistair Simm is the epitome of Scrooge. The Scott version was very good, but his attempt at a middle class English accent spoiled it for me. It seems male American actors have a problem with English accents , unlike the females such as Meryl Streep , Renee Zellweger. and Gillian Anderson. Donald Sutherland as Mr Bennett in Pride and Prejudice is another example of good acting but poor diction.

Great video with some personal memories. My father's memorial service was held at St.Paul's in Covent Garden in 2011 which is known as the Actors' Church. He was a stage, film, television and radio actor enjoying screen time with Richard Burton, Dustin Hoffman, John Gielgud, Diana Rigg and many more (T.P. McKenna 1929-2011). Also, my late brother, Kilian McKenna was cremated at Golders Green in 2014. Nice to see both these locations covered in such good detail.

If you are interested in seeing old graveyards, PLEASE READ THIS. So many old graves are losing the ability to read what is / was on the gravestone. It would be really great if we could come together to have small plaques made for each of them in order to help identify whose grave it is. I think whoever owns / manages the grave should have records on who is in each grave. I am sure some graves may be so old that there is no way to find out. However it would help preserve the info we can read and or find out about each grave, for future generations. I have no idea on the cost it would take to have a small plaque made. However if we came together as a community, I am sure donations and fundraisers could help cover the cost. Maybe starting with the older graves and posting info on where families could have plaques made for their loved ones, whom they visit. It's only a good idea if many people help to come together to make it happen.

I know you posted this over a year ago, but have just watched it. The segment on Golders Green is particularly poignant for me as we attended my Great Aunts funeral there recently. Then you showed the Ivor Novello Lilac bush planted in memory of him. My Gt Aunts ashes will be spread to the right of that alongside her late husband & daughter who are already there. ❤️ Thank you for showing this x

So glad you found the graves of the brilliant performance comedian Benny Hill. And talented actor Sir Alec Guinness. Two brilliant performers. Benny Hill's shows are still played on repeat all over the world. He must by now be used to fans visiting. His grave still gets a decent share of flowers on his birthday. Glad to you went to Lewis Caroll's. Grave. Ive been there myself. The whole area has a energy there and another grave that gets regular visitors. . Thankyou for coming to the UK. My country. Hope you enjoyed your time here where we have graveyards so old their still not sure exactly how long theyve been around. Im a writer/photographer and musician. And i too love exploring old graveyards. Especially when your lucky to find a grave of someone who in one way or another made a impact on the world. George C Scotts Scrooge is also my fav. He was such a brilliant actor. Have you visited his grave? If not you should. Id love to know whete he is buried. And go visit him. George Orwell grave is awesome. Never knew where he was buried. Ill have to go visit him now i know where he is isnt far from where i live. If id known he was so close. Id have visited years ago. Your videos are awesome. Keep upthe brilliant work. Chriss 🇬🇧

43:20 Bram Stoker's Dracula With Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves, Wynonna Ryder, and Sadie Frost is the best version of a Dracula movie ever.🙂 in my opinion.

Love these vids, they are strangely comforting. Moore Marriott that doyen of British cinema (first appearance in 1904) is buried in Golders Green cemetery, sadly in an unmarked grave.

Young people today have absolutely NO idea what good acting is today. Many people presented in this video are legends. And I bet young ones couldn't recall ANY of them.
