You definitely took one for the team! Though it's always so weird to see 50% treated as a dark? Like I know that 'dark' just really means no milk products legally, but I'm too used to craft chocolate where 'dark' only really starts at 70%!

Yeah definitely weird! I guess most milk bars across Europe (in my experience) are like 25-30% so 50% mayyyy seem dark in comparison?
@DessertGeek

@@MaverickBaking Wait, only 25!? 30% is practically the minimum now for craft milk chocolate, and dark milks run about 45-69% cacao! That's such a gap!

This was a fantastic review to watch, even by someone who has never tried a single Lindt product. 👏🏻

Wow! I know so many people that love Lindt here especially the little truffle ones but that might be because we don’t have great quality chocolate choices here in the US. I typically go to a Ghirardelli square if I’m craving something indulgent and I’ve found some great chocolate choices from our local Aldi’s store that come from Europe and I can tell you there is such a taste difference between an American chocolate bar and a great milky chocolate bar from somewhere else. We enjoy your videos!

So American chocolate does have amazing options - they're just not as much in grocery stores? That is craft and bean to bar chocolate stateside and in Canada is ridiculously good, from Fresco in Washington state to Fruition in New York, and there are so many options for so many interests! Because I totally agree that grocery store chocolate is not remotely the same as craft chocolate!

Honestly, as supermarket chocolate goes Lindt's definitely not the woooooorst so I get it. Also, having tried Hershey's and Dove, I can see why Lindt would seem good haha! And thanks!

For me the best Lindt chocolate is their Swiss classic line specifically the Swiss dark chocolate, the packaging is black with a picture of the chocolate, and I believe there are other flavors as well. Although, I tend to get them for baking not as a candy bar to eat.

Loved the video Kelly, I enjoy your reviews so much! I loved your recent Ritter Sport review, I would quite like to see a review of some of their other flavours and hear your thoughts 🥰 also I was tempted to buy the new Lindor Double Chocolate Truffle as I've seen it at the end of basically every aisle in Tesco for weeks lol, but now I'm not too sure 😮💨 may have to give it a go anyways 🤣 sending lots of love 💐

Definitely need to try some more Ritter Sport bars soon! Our nearest Lidl has loads so I'll get on it. Always worth having a try anyway, my word certainly isn't always gospel haha!

It's been a while I had lindt. I can't remember if it was good or not. What are your thoughts on the regular lindts? Also why do kinder products taste better than Cadbury or galaxy?
@MaverickBaking
2 жыл бұрын
Regular Lindt bars mostly aren't great, their dark chocolate is poor quality and often more bitter than it should be, in my opinion. The only products from them I occasionally enjoy are the seasonal rabbits/reindeer or their "extra creamy" milk bars. Though honestly it's mostly out of nostalgia as my mum and I used to share those when I was little! You're right, Kinder products DO taste better! Still very sugary and pretty poor quality (generally speaking) but they have far better milk and cocoa content than Cadbury and Galaxy which are SO heavy with vegetable oils nowadays.

Your videos have been my latest entertainment, thank you lol. I’ve actually never really enjoyed Lindt so I’m not surprised there bars were sub-par. They’re everywhere here in the US, especially during the holidays. And I’ll eat them too when gifted, but never buy them. I think culturally in the US we just don’t have good taste in chocolate. You really have to hunt for them in gourmet or even health food stores like The Fresh Market, Wholefoods etc….but hunt I will cause ya girl loves her chocolate 🙏😝

So today I learned I know nothing about chocolate. I actually thought Lindt Lindor was supposed to be premium chocolate, probably doesn't help that the price is also premium here in NZ haha.

We have those here in New Zealand, Lindt bars I've seen them in the supermarket and other shops for aaaaages. Haha never thought new zealand of all places would be ahead of the uk 🤣 those flavors are new though (I've just seen a red chocolate one, white one and a brown dark chocolate one/packaging)

They certainly travel far haha! Yes I vaguely remember a plain version of this bar being in the UK for a while now too?? These ones both seem relatively new though!

I think it tastes... Let's call it not so good because of the manufacturing location. Lindet manufacturers it's products in plants in Europe and also in turkey. From past experience, the same chocolate tastes utterly different when it is made in Europe (not so cheap) in oppose to when it is made in turkey. So maybe this is why you had such an unpleasant experience. Worth checking next time. Do not recommend what so ever buying chocolats that are made in turkey.

I actually like the pistachio bar but it would be far superior if there was a higher pistachio amount and it was dark chocolate. Trying to find a good pistachio chocolate bar in England is quite the struggle.
