I'm honestly so impressed tgat you managed to remember the order so well because i would have immediately forgotten 😅

I am tracking the order in a miro board but am generally useless at remembering to have it to look at when I'm filming. I do wonder if books from the first video of this will be at a disadvantage overall as I will definitely forget what they're about and what they were like 😅

I've wondered about trying chapters, it's an interesting concept to put the books in priority order, then you can look back after reading them and see if you were right Spinner is also self published which is probably why you haven't heard other people talk about it! Heirs of Power was the first book Kay wrote, and she very much wishes she could go back and rewrite it now 😅 But I promise it is fun!! Also, it's kind of good that it's low on the list, because for the last year and a half my sister has had issues with her wrists (they thought it was carpal tunnel but now they've ruled that out but still don't know what's wrong) so she hasn't been able to write anything for that whole time, meaning book 4 isn't written yet

I'm conflicted about whether I should read the books that I'm putting at the bottom, part of me thinks I should because I have too many books to read, but the scientist in me wants to test the assumption that the first chapter is a good test. I think it's good to find the books I'm super hyped about but it remains to be seen if it will translate to high overall ratings. I didn't realise that Spinner was self-published too so that's good to know. Oh no! That's not great that your sister is having wrist issues, especially if they don't know what's wrong. I've seen other authors with similar issues and I can imagine it's so frustrating! 💕😢

@@paperback_cat I know I've read books that I thought would be five stars from the beginning and ended up being three, and vice versa, so I do think it's an interesting test!

I hope as you get to know the Wayfarer crew, you will enjoy the book. I look forward to your thoughts, even if they may not aline with mine! Kizzy & Dr. Chef are my favorite crew members... although I came to love them all... 😕 even grumpy Corbin...

I would like to love them all... but I'm not normally a character-driven reader so I'm somewhat concerned that it won't be for me since mostly people only talk about the characters when they talk about the book. But I will try it at some point so fingers crossed!

You did Becky Chambers dirty by doing 'Try a Chapter' with 'The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet' 🥲 Now I'm curious how you'll like it overall instead of just the start!

😅🙃😬 I knew you'd be mad! I know it's a character based book so do you think it changes much in tone or more interesting plot/concept things are introduced as it goes on? I want to believe that I'll love it but I'm struggling now...

@@paperback_cat haha oh no, I'm not mad. I don't think I ever could be mad about someone not enjoying a book because people are different 😊 I think it takes a while to be introduced to the whole ship and the people on it. It took me a while to fall in love with the characters, not instant love from the first chapters.
