Hi ola I am looking for a metal amp sounding like a rectifier I mean chuggy and huge but not too modern would you recommend the prs mt15 or the peavey invective 20 mh? The tone jerry Cantrell used on his Ernie ball interview is what I am currently after (I am looking for a 15-30 watt amp) However will a 15 watt lunchbox like the ones I mentioned sound professional??(for recording and such)

Hi Ola. I just want take this time to say thank you. I have been playing guitar for over 20 years. The last few years I have not been as much into guitars. Music today is boring and there has been nothing that has excited me or given me inspiration to play. My brother showed me one of your videos a while back and I have been hooked ever since. You make really fun, educational and stress relieving videos. I think what you are doing for the guitar community is so good. The music industry has changed so much and you have found a really interesting way of engaging with fans. My wife got me a A2.6TBR for my birthday and it's just a magnificent guitar. I love the Solar brand and I am excited to see what more is to come from that. Thank you for giving me a new leace of life with my guitar playing.

I had years of music and theory and know that information well enough, but guitar is a self-taught instrument. My brain's fine, but my fingers don't keep up like yours do. Thanks for being transparent about it like this. I've been considering lessons for my hands' sake, and you may have inspired me to start.

About ESP guitars, to give more details to Johan Vängbo who asked about : in my humble opinion, ESP guitars are made for peoples like me who can't play on an Ibanez because the flat Ibanez neck sucks (my opinion, my experience, just a question of taste). I explain. In the 90's I was searching for the holy grail. With the other guitar player of my band, we were searching for the ultimate machine with no limit to our budget. As we are French, we spent one full day in Pigalle (Paris) to test every brands. We played five very expensive Ibanez from the custom shop on a Peavey 5150 and a Bogner Ecstasy. It was like a cold shower : the sound was so tiny (disgusting to me) that I realized that Ibanez was made for fusion music, fx racks, etc. In the 90's ESP was famous in France but very difficult to get. But there was a shop in Paris called California Music. There, we founded an Horizon original one. When I put my left hand on the neck, I felt like "this is the one I want to married with!!!" It was a factory standard ESP and it was much more better than the custom shop guitars made by Ibanez we tried one hour before. Then we went to Universal Guitars shop and we tried an ESP MII Deluxe (mahogany / maple table + Seymour SH1 / TB4 Jeff Beck pickups / Floyd Rose original). We tried the guitar on a Sansamp (I hate this sound and was afraid of being influenced by the Sansamp more than by the guitar) and guess what... it was the apocalypse in the shop! And I felt in love with ESP, for ever. The owner of the shop asked us about our amps. We answered : Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifiers 2 channels + 4x12 Marshall cabs. He said : men, it's gonna kill every other rigs on earth. And he was so right. I still play ESP/Rectifier today. My friend bought the guitar and still play it today. I went on the Horizon model because I'm a Gibson LesPaul player. The ESP neck is a thin U profile. If you like Gibson, go for ESP ! I bought an original ESP Horizon Custom Shop with the "knife" head (no more in production because there are law suits with Jackson). I still play this beast witch sounds like a Gibson SG on steroids. In 2007, I went to Tokyo (at Big Boss shop) and I bought an Horizon Kiko Loureiro signature : the SE-100, a see trans blue flamed maple table on a 3P hard maple neck thru mahogany body with ebony fretboard scaloped 27 frets / Seymour Duncan SH1n + TB14 pickups). This is the ultimate shred machine. A Formula one! A torpedo!!! I feel like Luke Skywalker in the X-Wing when I play this amazing guitar. The best guitar I have ever played. In 2017, I ordered a custom shop at Guitars rebellion, official custom shop seller in France for ESP. They go to Japan and check out the guitars at Tokyo custom shop. They are friends with a few guyz at ESP custom shop. ESP made me a bolt-on neck for an M1 : I asked for the ultimate access rounded without the plate. They design it, sent me a PDF with the plan. They made it on a one piece maple neck. I choose the east indian rosewood piece for the board. The body is a one piece mahogany. They said no for a one piece maple top : very rare, very expensive, you need to wait years for that, and they say yes if it's a body only, not for a table. So I choose a bookmatched. They sent me tons of pictures and it was very long to get a beautiful table. During one fuckin year, I said : "not this one", "no sorry, not like this", etc. Very long ! Then I found a good one, not perfect, but as I like. I get the guitar in January 2019. And... this is the perfect mix between a Charvel San Dimas shape and a Gibson LesPaul. I put just one pickup on with a push-split volume knob : Seymour Duncan TB12 Screamin' Demon (I'm a George Lynch fan, so...). This M1 is the guitar I play on Friedman, Bogner, etc, the Plexi thing you know. My Horizon Kiko Loureiro is made for the Rectifier, Diezel VH4 monsters, modern high gain babies, you see. I've tested tons of guitars in my life (I'm 45 years old). Nothing is stronger than the ESP sound if you are like me, searching for fat and juicy tone. Something like Corrosion of Conformity, Crowbar, Megadeth, Lamb Of God etc. I hate this tight low end (djent is not for me) that everybody wants today : it's for kids afraid of the big bad tone. Jackson (witch I played in the 80's) is almost at the level, but as it's an american production : means you can get jewels... or shits. As ESP is made in japan, you know that what you will get is a clone of the guitar you've heard before ordering the same or something like this. No bad surprises here. If you are a Gibson guy searching for a modern shape : ESP is the way to go. And the bonus : if you like the U shape of the 52' Fender Telecaster neck, you could love ESP guitars too ! PS : The question was about ESP, I have no idea of the quality about LTD. As I play music with no compromise, I'm not interested in LTD.

I had the same experience with Greg. There were some problems with my payment due to it being an overseas transaction. I was very concerned because when I placed my order the website told me it was the last one in stock and I didn't want to lose that guitar over the issue with my payment. Greg was quick to respond and made sure that didn't happen. An overall positive experience and my S1.6 FRBLB is flatout awesome!

The Drapery Falls, my go to riff when I'm noodling. It's a Gm though, not a G5, though hard to play that in dropped tuning.. The opening chord is a nice voicing of an Am, also the opening chord in Life is a Highway by Audioslave. The first opening riff the The Drapery Falls is really cool, tricky fingering, really nice zen like strumming pattern, with that rise and fall that reminds me of waves, with swell rising and falling over a reef. It's a very relaxing song to play.

FAQ:Hey Ola. I´m thinkig to buy your A1.6ATG BARITONE and i´m not quite sure wich tunning this baritone can easily do. What i mean is: I cant find an information about range of tunnings for short baritones (26,5). How high can I tune it without ajusting something and how low can i go till the guitar starts sounding like shit? Please help me out here =)

Hey Mr. Englund, I would suggest to check out the Secret Lagoon if you're going to Iceland because that's more oriented for the locals as opposed to the Blue Lagoon that's wanted more for tourists. Also, the tomato farm/restaurant is awesome. Please go to Iceland, the urban areas are kinda meh but everything else makes you wish it was never ending. Here's my question: What is your favourite tuning? And if you would go on a tour with only one tuning to save space for carrying a million guitars and backups for each tuning which one would it be for you particularly? Love the content, you should get a real cat for the office. The subs will love you for it for sure.

Hello Ola! Have you ever thought that when you play riffs from the bands you friends you're sort of helping them out, if you don't count money that goes to record companies? Or as in the case of Pantera you help to keep the legacy alive and give credit (and money) to whom it belongs? Great work dude! hope you and your family are still okay! btw..Had to buy Feared-Svart, not for the autograph, but for The Mare -video..And it is a bleep good album.

I have never had a problem with reducing nickel frets. (Except second hand guitars, in which case I will replace those frets myself.) Probably the biggest factor in reducing nickel frets is playing with rusty strings. It sands the frets while playing. I hardly sweat my hands, (be careful with diabetic people because your sweat is acidic.) and I wipe the strings with a cloth after playing so the strings won't rust badly either. Also, it would not be good to hold the strings too hard. In many cases, it is not necessary to hold the string so strongly. Conversely, using a nickel string on a stainless steel fret results in faster string fatigue. Finally, as you may know, Jescar NS18% nickel frets are harder than poor quality stainless steel frets.

FAQ; Hey Ola, great job and keep it up! My question is whether Solar is actively seeking bigger name endorsees, and what, if any, are your plans for expansion?

Hey Ola, was that the plini vst riffing throughout the video? Sounds tough. Would you share the setting if so?
