Something I try to do when I buy new prepping supplies that are susceptible to an EMP or any other electrical damage. I have my 'working' electronics, and I have my extra's and backup to my extra's that I wrap and pack away safely.
This is so easy to do and not expensive at all. I can't afford the pricey faraday bags and supplies that are out there - so I do the poor man's version.
Keep your electronics in their original cardboard or whatever package they came in. This is truly the first layer of your faraday package. But, wrap your box or package in bubble wrap complete, tape down the sides. You want a full barrier present.
Then wrap your package with 3 layers of aluminum foil - if you can find extra heavy duty aluminum foil, go for it! I can't locally so I am stuck with the thinner version. Even so, wrap with 3 layers of it completely, and tape in place if you need to.
Wrap another lay of bubble wrap completely - no open areas at all.
Wrap another 3 layers of aluminum foil, there should be no openings at all. I often wrap it one way, then wrap it the other way, etc to make sure no bubble wrapping is showing thru.
Wrap with a final layer of bubble wrap and label your item with black Sharpie marker. You can done one more layer if you wish.
Place your wrapped packages inside a cardboard box. I use moving boxes from Home Depot. Label your box and store for future need.
I will show a separate video on how to make a faraday cage using a metal trash can and a metal trash can lid, cardboard and plastic bags. These are excellent for larger items you use daily like your laptop, cell phone, battery chargers, etc.
Enjoy!
