He's a self-invented person. A person regardless of race, upbringing, class, etc. has the power to make oneself into a unique being that transcends (the perception of or about) one's race, class, upbringing, etc. It's just that some people are duped by others into thinking they can't or they're too lazy to do so, or they simply don't have the idea or intelligence to do so. Another example of a self-invented person is Elthelrida from Season 4.
