I love this video. Not only is the house gorgeous but everything she said is right. I “spring clean” twice a year and when I do, I always have a mind set as if I were moving. I ask myself “what do I really need?”, “will I be using this stuff next year?”, “do I really need this?”, “do I really need to save all of my kids art work from school?”. I’ll go through everything! So twice a year I brung bags of clothes, toys and other things to the Salvation Army and to clothing drop boxes at a near by church. It does feel good! Not only are you cleaning and organizing but you are also helping others in need. I always donate. I never do garage sales if I’ve accumulated too much. I figured that God blesses be with so much so let me just give it away rather than make money off of it. Wonderful feeling.

Totally agree, my husband and I recently down-sized from a really large home with a large lot, large pool - the whole 9 - we just woke up one day and said - this is too much, sold it and bought a small 4-room house and we couldn't be happier. We purged A TON and we miss none of it! There is something really sweet about living simple with only what you need and love.

I love this! I started purging over a year ago during a move, and I'm still working on it. There's nothing like the feeling of empty space in my opinion. We spend so much of our lives getting things that we forget to stop and appreciate them.

My family lives in the city . It's myself and my three teens . We lived in a HUGE older apartment with tons of storage and rooms we never even used . ( the dining room) . We since moved into a smaller apartment with only a small kitchen, small living room and one storage closet in the livingroom besides the small closets in our bedrooms . (We used to all have walk in closets ) We also now only have one bathroom and my laundry is in the hallway that's outside of all of our bedrooms. I purged EVERYTHING. Pans, dishes, nic nacs, blankets , old curtains, clothing, shoes , furniture etc etc. Now living in a small place I still get rid of unnecessary items regularly to keep from feeling uncluttered. I just stumbled across your channel and I immediately subscribed. My oldest son and I are thinking about buying a small house away from the city. ( tired of noise and ready to have our family home to ourselves ) Your home is beautiful ❤

Love it! My husband and I are currently in Nashville, TN and wanting to get out of city limits and get a little bit of land instead of our current small backyard with neighbors on every side. I want a home decorated exactly like yours! I've always had more of a modernist decorating style, but I started watching the Netflix show "Anne with an E" and fell in love with the rich chocolate tone wood finishes, ceramic pitchers and decor, whitewashed walls, and overall simplistic yet beautiful home aesthetic. In that time, the advertisers didn't have a foothold in every home telling everyone BUY EVERYTHING, so they were minimalist by today's standards very much so. Also, I would love my washer and dryer in my kitchen like that. My current home has the laundry room area in the garage and it's a pain to go out there and when you can't see it right in front of you, laundry can stack up very quick, and I even sometimes forget if I have clothes in the dryer. Beautiful and inspirational home tour!

I love it all ready without watching all of it yet because you said your family just wants to surround yourselves with meaningful things. I'm a huge fan of that! A lot of the house tours on KZitem all look the same 😂 everyone ships the same stores and buys all the same decor. It's like touring the stores themselves. Nothing to say WOW about! Just a pile of store bought decor cluttered everywhere. I'm tired of it so this is refreshing. There's only a few KZitemrs I watch now because I got tired of seeing the same old same old decor from all the popular stores.

To clear out the space clears out our mind. I love your house, it feels peaceful and welcoming. You are right, it is sooo therapeutic to get rid of stuff. i have far too much junk, I guess it accumulated threw the years and I'm now in a process of selecting, as you say, the items that really mean something/or that I really really like. Therefore we get to spend the precious time left in our life for more important things like sharing diners with friends and family, or go to exhibitions and holidays. Also as for your décor I've noticed that you kept almost the same theme throughout the whole house which also brings a sense of harmony and flow. I love all your comments, as I can relate to them (clutter). Thank you. Claire (53) from Normandie, FRANCE.

Each time you mentioned paring down you exhaled in an expression of release and re-energizing. I share that each time I go into our cottage. We sold our apartment in DC and gave away 30 years of accumulated STUFF and purchased a cottage in Southern Maryland. The day we rid ourselves of all of the stuff I felt like I could breath again! Congratulations on your new home and for learning the life's lesson of what is important in life and therefore what the real purpose of life is. And thanks for sharing that with us.

You have definitely inspired me to eliminate a lot of closet clutter. We moved into our new home almost 3 years ago. I'm ashamed to say, I still have boxes in my closets from our move. I'm struggling with bad knees, but I'm going to begin going through one closet at a time, and get rid of everything I'm not using. It will take some time and work, but I'm going to tackle this project. I'll start on Monday, with our guest room. Our new home has 2 and 1/2 baths, but I love that. It's a 2 story home and I love having the 1/2 bath on the 1st level. We have 3 bedrooms, one I use as an office , the 3rd is our guest room, and our master suite. I have 6 closets, 2 on the 1st level, 2 in the master bedroom and 1 in the office, and 1 in the guest room. I don't have a linen closet, so I use part of our master bedroom closet as a linen closet. I can't wait to get started on my closet purge. Thanks for inspiring me.

Good morning, i enjoyed this video . Your home is dear and lovely. i wanted to say that living in an old farmhouse since the beginning of our marriage of 26 years and welcoming 4 healthy boys our home has been purposed and repurposed ....i will say this having one bathroom has worked since the beginning but i have bought more towels not less and unscented candles ...i keep lots because it is wonderful to have much extra for no current(if that happens) and on a daily basis i light those cheap unscented white candles. i make lamps out of mason jars and fill them with things that mean something to me. i learned alot today from this video.

What a pretty house! We have a similar sized home and I love it! I wouldn't upgrade for anything. It's comfy, cozy, easy to keep clean, also one bathroom which works out just fine. The only thing I would do if I could is to move it more out in nature, because we're in the suburbs and even that feels a bit too busy to my taste sometimes. We do purge a lot of stuff on a regular basis. When you have no spare room to store stuff, you can't hang on to clutter. I love it

Hi! I'm so happy to see your house. I am going to build a house with the 70square meter land that I bought years ago. Only this year, I finally decided to build a house on it. I have watched more than 80 videos and searched for floor plans and I was just too excited and confused of what I really wanted to do that even confuses the architect too. You just said it right, simple living is the best. I might as well built it very similar to this. Thanks for sharing this video.

I loved the little personal stories you added in about the pieces that mean the most to you, where they are from, and how you chose to showcase those little memories. You're obviously a great mom, you never get impatient with your daughter but take the time and effort to include her in the project. It's also adorable how she was adjusting things in her room to be just right, it's cute how much pride she takes in her room. Also, I loved the idea of having a little dressing nook to ready in rather than trekking to downstairs bathroom. I will probably steal that idea from you with much gratefulness! Subscribed!
