My husband and I have been looking for ideas to make a feeder. Prices have skyrocketed for everything. We considered making one out of wood, but I don't want to have to rebuild it any time soon. This idea was perfect. I just watched a video prior to yours of doing the same thing. Weather protection and a catch at the bottom for loose hay were not considered. These were the factors that I made my decision on as to which I would build. Yours definitely took the cake with these particular additions. Thank you so much for making this video!

I built one of these for my dorper sheep after watching this very informative video. The issue I have found is that the older sheep can get their heads stuck inside the IBC cage. We've only had it out in the paddock for a day and the ram was stuck fast and had to be freed, and the following day we had 2 young wethers stuck in the same hole, resulting in one being killed. I'm going to use gate mesh to close down the cage gaps to stop them being able to push their heads in, and only making the ends of the V shaped funnel and the tray below accessible. Other than this, its a cheap and great way to feed the sheep and it definitely worked. I'll just make it a bit safer for my sheep breed.

I’ve seen several videos of this but yours is the best method. The way you modified is safer than most for livestock! We have access to many so will be putting them to good use. Thx for the great video!

Tim! You are such a genius! This is a beautiful and remarkable repurposing useful feeder invention! I’m sending this off to everyone I know with sheep, goats and miniature horses! What can you repurpose/recycle for horses? Saddle horses and Percheron Draft horses? 😍😎🤩 thanks again Tim!

You should use the corner off cut pieces to finish off the V … it provides a rounded edge rather than any sharp edges. And yes I have a couple of these ripper feeders. The girls love em and the Llama gets his treats on the roof where the girls can’t reach. Can’t recommend enough to anyone thinking just do it.
