Our farm got a 450 when I was little (1958). It's still there in running condition. Was a favorite of my Dad.

That’s great. Very unusual to see a tractor that old still working on the same farm.

@@rogermiller7411 It's retired now, but that tractor used to do everything on 480 acres. It did the corn/soybean planting and cultivating with the first 6 row planter and front mount cultivator in the area. Ran a 2 row mounted picker. 55T hay baler etc. Broke an axle once. Caught on fire a couple times. Dad restored it around 1995. It keeps company with several other old Farmall/IH/McCormick tractors from another time. Really enjoyed watching your video.

That’s one of the things that happens when you use this old stuff-all the memories of the people of your youth ride along with you.

Dad had a similar model 70 plow. From looking at this and what I remember, that 70 has a different front end/hitch mounting area on it. It started out as a 3-16 pulled by a Moline UB diesel but was converted/added onto to make it a 4-16 when the UB was replaced by a M670. I remember that setup as the main plow in the 1970s. I always like the smell of the overturned dirt when plowing. That mixed with diesel fuel.

They should make that smell into a men’s cologne.

The job is the same but it’s interesting to see how each manufacturer went about it. Thanks for sharing.

Dad had a 450 Diesel in North Dakota. He pulled a 4-14 with a packer & press drill. Plowed in 4th gear with the TA in low.

Not sure mine could do that in the dirt we have here.

Nice to see a tractor old enough to be on social security, still earning its keep. I hope i can say the same for me if i make it that far, but the way the united states national debt is i will have to earn my keep too, because there will be none of my money left to give back to me.

Stop watching the depressing news. Work hard, pay your bills and save as much as you can, Trust The Lord with the outcome. Dave Ramsey’s debt snowball is a good way to start 👍🏼
