If you want to know how auto painters remove bugs: Take a loop of masking tape sticky side out and hold it at the top, then slowly lower until it contacts the bug, then pull away. If you can't get it with the tape loop, let the paint dry and sand it out and repaint. The problem with doing it with pliers or tweezers is that no matter how steady you can hold things, your hands will still move around a little and can cause a lot more overall damage and widen the overall repair. It is usually harder to fix than if you let it dry and fix it afterwards. Yes, it is incredibly tempting to get those pliers out and fix it now so you can make it perfect, but it usually is a bad idea. If you use a tape loop it usually doesn't matter if your hands move around a little because the tape will flex and take up that movement. The bottom of the tape loop will contact the thing that is highest or more proud of the surface - like a bug. It will usually pick up the bug (or anything proud of the surface) - as long as you are careful doing it. If it doesn't get the bug out - let it dry, sand and repaint.

Oh wow, you're going to need to get yourself a bug zapper to hang in your shop for a few days with all your new "friends" in there. That looks a LOT more comfortable than just a regular painting mask.

I have seen a couple different ideas for temporary paint booths. One involved a few boards to frame it with plastic covering it when a friend was painting a car. The other was a folding sun shade that the guy set up for painting small items. Both used box fans with high efficiency furnace filters for bringing in fresh air. That allowed for painting when they had state bird (mosquito) and pollen issues.

I think it's good for a working tractor. Besides the bug's being bad. Both of you walked away without shutting the door after bringing in the pulley, that didn't help with keeping the bugs out. But senior's tip for using the bug repellent on the barrels made a big difference in keeping them out of your paint.

It has a round factory roof. The seat material is cracked is about all the damage. It has hydraulics on the rear hitch. I would love it to go to a professional. Last run 10 years ago but stored indoors and correctly. I am on Olympia Washington state.

Not enough sandblasting oomph from the compressor? Tee into your air line, before the water separator, and tie in a second "portable" compressor. You won't be sorry. Red mosquitos are a bonus! There are actually studies of bugs that got encrypted in paint in centuries past. They get to learn from what was going on in the bugs from the time period that it got painted.

I love the hood - after getting used to that I prefer it over the mask. Also keeps you cool with all of the air rushing around your head, and no overspray buildup on my glasses. Only downside is that it’s noisy in there - sounds like a wind storm so it’s difficult to hear if somebody is trying to get your attention 👍

What pressure do you have the regulator set at for painting?
@squatch253
28 күн бұрын
I run two regulators in my setup - the first one is on the inlet side of the air/water separator and is set at 45 psi - this keeps the paint gun from pushing out a brief high pressure spike of air when the trigger is first pulled. Then the second regulator is mounted on the base of the paint gun itself, and I’ve got that one set at just 12 psi.
