I cant believe not one thing was discussed about the adaption of these new passenger airliners and severely disabled people. What discrimination against the severely disabled in this industry... Wake up Britain how humiliating it is for Farnborough to discriminate against access for the disabled for this industry ??? The test for any airline is how they treat disabled passengers from blind all the way to disabled seat allocation and choice of seat.CLEARLY despite primary legislation in the EU airlines feel they can cut costs by not training their ground or cabin staff in disability. Arab airlines seem to be the worst, culturally placing children in disabled seats and disabled in children seats with no through ticketing continuity meaning disabled have to wait for the next flight connection to get the cabin seat suitable for disability. Although the airlines have placed full pressure on the UK government to reduce airline transport duty for seriously disabled passengers to help them purchase business class seats airlines in EU all want additional help for disabled passengers written down and as of right. The removal of APD for children was a fad that did not work and will be reversed shortly. However whether this small gesture of the removal of ATD for severely disabled and VAT will be enough without strict legislation is unlikely. Both will need to be implemented to change airline behaviors and welcomed by the US airline industry too.
