Farooq Abdullah pins hope on Lok Sabha Speaker to hear Opposition’s voice on issues
National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah on June 27, took a jibe at Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, stating that there is a strong opposition in the parliament. Following this, he said that the people’s problems must be brought before the parliament.
"Democracy has to survive. For that, the Speaker will have to change, to new things. It is no longer a brut majority on one side. Now, there is opposition, strong opposition, youth opposition, that wants to raise people's problems and I hope the speaker will allow those problems to be brought before the people otherwise this parliament has no meaning at all," said Farooq Abdullah
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
