Pump the brakes before you start the vehicle not before you drive .. before starting the engine make sure to pump the brakes until the peddle is nice and firm

Great video. Would you advise to remove some of the brake fluid on very worn pads and then top it off after new pads are installed? Any plans to show switching to coilovers for these cars? Or other suspension videos?
@NaptownTuner
3 жыл бұрын
Yes I’ll probably get around to doing a brake flush video and that’s the fastest way to remove / replace the fluid before the flush. I loved coilovers on my drift cars that I had in the past but on these cars I like factory sport suspension or lowering springs for ride quality but someone might eventually want them installed so I’ll at least get around to a lowering springs video

@@NaptownTuner my A4 8.5 was base model suspension. I was hoping to get it track ready with KW coilover. Do you think the Audi base suspension would still be decent with new springs? I used to drive Firebirds so everything in my A4 seems premium haha. Thanks for help btw

@@RealJayEmZee personally I haven’t had to replace any struts on 2009+ ( that aren’t magnetic ride ) you can drain your wallet replacing everything but the suspension arms/ bushings are a nice thing to do at least the front lower rear control arms I have a video on already. But just springs or springs and new struts wouldn’t hurt if planning to keep the car for years.

Why not open the hydraulic brake bleeder valve on each caliper / wheel and let the old, not good brake fluid - escape into a disposal cup, and let fresh brake fluid from the master cylinder replace that?

Can I just slide my rotors out from the caliper Bridge instead of removing it? I live in Chicago, shits rusted and it's cold right now. I don't wanna spend time or energy with a torch and breaker car on Daytona 3 ton jacks. Ive done this on my gf jetta 17' 1.4t.

Your name says naptown but are you in Indianapolis? I have a 2010 Audi A4 awd but I’m having trouble starting my car.. I’ve been told it was a pressure pump but I personally believe it could be something as simple as spark plugs/ignition coil packs. Is it possible for a diagnosis in person?

Hi mate, first of all, thank you very much for your content, it is much appreciated. I’m trying to buy new front discs for my Audi A5 2.0 TFSI 2009. But when I check online everywhere seems there’s 2 sizes 314 and 320mm diameter for the front discs. Is there any way I can check which ones I should be using without actually dismantle them? Does it matter? Best regards
@NaptownTuner

I honestly don’t pay too much attention and order them by the year I believe 320mm is what I use but I’ll do a brake upgrade video soon with s4/s5 rotors on an a4

Use a drill to drill off the head. Once the rotor is off, you can grab the remaining piece with vice grip pliers to remove it from the hub.
