Years ago when he played a fair bit of snooker there was no cueing up it was point and shoot and he was very quick. Its a double edged blade mind if he had slowed down a little and a second or two thought he might have won a good few cups then again it might have taken the edge off his potting. He was fun to watch and had a century break in 3 minutes, a record that still stands I think. He will do well at pool its made for him.

I remember when Tony came over to England playing at Potters, Geoff Lomas' club playing with his knitting needle of a cue, 9mm at the most possibly nearer 8mm, quiet and shy until he picked the cue up, potting balls on an old table with very tight pockets ,he was a magician, everyone loved him...

Good LORD, and I thought I play fast. I think that may be the fastest played pro match to that number of games I've seen. Jason/Shane is usually fast, but not quite that fast. There are others. I've seen Strickland play this fast many times, but his opponent usually doesn't, unless it's a legacy 9 ball match from the right years, then the opponent just sits. :-) And they played well. A couple of missed shots from Putnik, usually due to bad positioning, but otherwise very nice. Some excellent tough safeties and rollout paths for both. Great match!

@MortenTheBeast Haven't seen him, or at least he's not coming to mind right now, I'll look him up. If you've never seen it, look at Ronnie O Sullivan's five minute and change perfect snooker break. It is nuts. He's literally down on shots, waiting for spots to happen, IIRC. If you're not familiar, keep in mind they're shooting at 3.5" pockets, with some relief in the cushion cuts, obviously, at least for direct shots.
@MrJdsenior
Жыл бұрын
@MortenTheBeast Well OK then, you obviously watch more snooker than I do. :-)
@MrJdsenior
Жыл бұрын
@MortenTheBeast Yes, I've seen it. If you haven't seen bonus ball, go take a look. You should look the rules up first or you won't have a clue what is going on. It was designed by the pros and features some crazy stuff, basically a combination of most every game you can think of. Sort of like one pocket, but with the corners on one side of the table and the opposite center pocket for one team, remainder for the other. Balls count different numbers of points for different colors, the game is timed, both pros and amateurs played it, and some of the good pros were playing. Even Strickland behaved himself. They do team play and then individual for total points toward the win. You will see most all of the other stick and table games aspects show up at one time or another. Like I said, some top pros playing, old and new. I asked Justin how he liked playing it and he said it was his second favorite game, after one pocket. I really enjoyed it. I think there were two seasons. And look up some pyramid pool if you haven't seen it...that is beyond nuts. The balls don't look like they will even fit into the pockets, literally, when they are sitting in front of them, something like 3 mm clearance each side. Sometimes they will smack a ball hard as hell and the ball just instantaneously stops in the jaws. I'm sure it is rattling, but on the video the movement is below the noise level, so to speak (resolution), so it looks like it's just run into a soft wall. There is a good game on YT where Corey takes on some high level amateur. Corey does pretty well, considering it's like nothing he's ever played. Looked like he was having fun, too. Hopefully you haven't seen at least one of these, but I'm losing hope. :-) I watched some pro pyramid, too. Wow! If I got on a table like that I think my stick would get broken in two not that long after I started play. Cheers!
