Mr. Unix Guy, just saw your video (just released 1 hour ago) and again, how informative with your step-by-step process that you map out for this career! You without a doubt Sir, are the best of the best! I love your knowledge, experience and tenacity! Keep those videos going as I always take away a chunk of knowledge from them that I didn't have before. The videos also provide motivation and determination to succeed as in my case! Just as simple as follow the path you provide and NEVER QUIT!!! Never listen to the toxic garbage, just keep going! @@UnixGuy I have an idea for something like Pre-Bootcamp Bootcamp. Let's say you have a very selective paid training bootcamp, but they only accept like 1% of applicants. Some of the others who didn't make the cut could still have a career, you prep them for 4 weeks, (charge tuition) then run them through the regular bootcamp. This idea needs work, but you see what I'm saying. You expand the pipeline if you have the quality issue solved. I smell money.

Hey is it possible you can do a AWS version? I can't find any other KZitemr who explains things as easily as you do, thank you!

hey mate, as explained in the video, Aws is very similar to azure so follow this and just do Aws cloud practitioner and aws solution architect then the security specialty

Can you do one with the fastest way to become a cloud security architect roadmap please ❤. Ex full stack engineer who is working a support engineer role with incident response. I have the aws SAA and a splunk cert. But i dont want to code that much any more rather build those soft skills and architecture security solutions. 🙏🏾

So, from what I understand automation security engineer is the hardest and most well paid? 😄 Thank you for the video! It was informative. I hope I'll secure a job in this area. No pun intended.

I was senior soc analyst and am transitioning to network security engineer. Do you think it is a good move career wise, when trying to progress in cyber security? I have weak IT CV with only helpdesk > jr analyst> sr analyst and got here by self study mostly, so I was thinking hard skill role like this would be more beneficial for me. Still..second guessing my decision..
@UnixGuy

hey mate, If i were you I would stay at my soc analyst role, and gain certitications there. Network security engineer is not a ‘hard skill role’, it’s just a different fielf altogether. You can progress nicely within your SOC role by doing more projecrts and certs and getting exposure to different areas

@@UnixGuy I see.. dang, well it was offered to me as inter company move, since most of our soc team was dissolved (lost customer) and the market here is not that great, so that's also one of the reasons I'm considering. Finding a good soc is a bit of a challenge and lot of engineer position assume netsec infra administration as well, relocation is also not possible atm for me. So I thought I'd weather the storm in netsec and try to make most of it.

Hi. I'm from biotechnology background with a sufficient knowledge in programming like python, c, perl, and some front-end languages and I've done 2 electives on cybersecurity and cyber forensics. And I'm looking for a career transition towards cybersecurity. Your videos are giving me a really great guidance and support. Even though, I've some doubts regarding which path should I choose to go forward in my career. Can you help me?

hey mate, you have a fanstastic background to do pretty much anything! You might excel in both automation with python and application security, so if i were you I’d do the python courses that I recommended then then the owasp course

@@UnixGuy That sounds great! I'm currently working in the NOC of a cybersecurity company, and I was recommended by my supervisor to try to transfer to the threat intelligence area. Talking to the people there, they recommended that I study OSINT, but I don't even know where to start! They also do a lot of automation with Python and other languages, which I am already familiar with. Thank you in advance.
