Made this smoothie today and it tastes great! Super happy although went a little overboard with the cayenne pepper woops! Mine made about 700ml is this normal? Or should i turn it into 2 drinks?

Glad you liked it! Most of our recipes make about 2 cups or 475ml per serving. If you ended up with more, you could def turn it into a drink and a half or two smaller drinks!

Will you still get as much nutrients as you should if you substitute the avocado for a banana? Asking cause I can't stand the taste of avocado or should I suck it up 😣

Lungelo, you'll get many of the same benefits but not the exact same. Avocados are some of the best things for healthy fats and bananas have a lot of natural sugars so for the purposes of this smoothie, you might want to give avocados a try. I really think the grapefruit, mint, and pineapple will be the flavors that stand out and you might not taste the avocado at all. Try it at least once, who knows... you might love it!

I'm not sure the exact brand of tea Jen used but you can use any green tea from the grocery store. One of our favorite brands is Traditional Medicinals.

I think grapefruit would be good in there but if you don't like it, try adding some ginger. It masks everything. When I add seaweed to my smoothie, I do that and it works.

Hey Bodor. It might taste bitter because of the green tea. If you steep green tea leaves for too long or if you steep them in water that's too hot, you will get a bitter tasting tea. So that may be the problem. 🍵 But, if you just don't like the taste of grapefruit, you can sub a large orange in its place. 🍊 Happy blending!!

Sorry that this recipe didn't work out for you as written, but we do have a great suggestion for keeping the sugar content lower in any smoothie: Our smoothie recipes are written as 1.5 cups of fruit & 1 cup of greens. Ohhhh yikes!!! Totally forgot you said in the video "if your grapefruit is LARGE only use HALF!!" sadly there's no toning down a grapefruit!! Granted I didn't have fresh mint so used Mint Green tea...not sure if the fresh mint tones it down?!? Might want to modify the recipe in the directions to call for HALF GRAPEFRUIT IF IT'S LARGE!! 🥴 that's my pucker power face 🤣! Other than it is refreshing! (Had to add almost 2 cups frozen Organic peaches and a lil honey to it and I'm STILL 🥴 ha ha!)

I have under active thyroid disease and i did this with some extra in with it and in 4 days ive can fasten my button on my shorts now and I have it as a meal . And i also have my normal meals as well in the day time. So it does works thank you for this video its been very helpful. 👍🍍🍓🍒🥑🍋😋

That is correctly you can keep it up to 3 days inside an air tight container. All you need to do is give it a shake and you are good to go.

Hmmm, that's a good question. I can ask Jen her thoughts, here are mine- Sometimes I find that if my leafy greens are starting to turn it will affect the taste of my smoothie a little. Brewed green tea can also have a bit of a bitter taste, especially if it's brewed in water that's too hot or steeped for too long. Could it be one of these things?

Ayesha, so glad you like the smoothie! I would suggest drinking this smoothie for breakfast, then you can eat lunch when you normally do. If you feel hungry mid-morning, maybe try a handful of almonds or other nuts.

We personally don't count calories, so we don't include them in our recipes at this time. You'll find that when you consume more nourishing foods like whole fruits and veggies, you will not only feel full longer, but you'll also have lessened cravings for high-calorie, nutritionally empty foods. So in the end it balances out. But we know many people would like to have calorie info. Three great resources for tracking calories are Self Nutrition Data, and the phone apps My Fitness Pal and Lose It.

If you are normally awake during that time I would say yes. This smoothie will give you a boost of energy so make sure to only consume when you need that extra energy!

Hey Andrea, you don't have to leave it overnight. You could chill it quickly in the freezer and then make your smoothie.

Hey there! Usually smoothies will separate and taste a bit different once blended and left in the fridge for a few hours even. We recommend blending day of. Please please please check if you can have grapefruit if you are on medications. As wonderful as grapefruit is, it can be deadly with some medications

Green tea is the best option for fat burning but you can always add in a different tea that you prefer.

Can i add Chia seeds to it? And what is they best way to approach drinking green smoothies? Do i drink them for 3 meals as a replacement?

You can def add chia seeds! Many of us like to drink a smoothie for breakfast. Some folks drink a smoothie for breakfast + lunch or breakfast + dinner. I wouldn't recommend drinking a smoothie for all three meals though, unless you have some good snacks on hand for when the hangries hit. 😄

It can work but it will have different health benefits. A smoothie that is already blended will last 2 days in the refrigerator.

Hey Cristina and Rosa! Brewed green tea can have a bit of a bitter taste, especially if it's brewed in water that's too hot or if it's been steeped for too long. Do you think it could be that?

Hey Kamran! One serving of this smoothie is 16 ounces. If you wanted to make two servings, double the ingredients. You can drink this at any time whatever works best for you. Since there is caffeine in it make sure to not drink it too late.

Love the recipe but you need to do more research on negative calorie foods. A quick google will tell you that celery is not a negative calorie food.

Hi Donna! Obviously no food is free of calories, expect for maybe Diet Coke, and who wants that in their body? We love blending with celery especially in fat-burning recipes because it's so low in calories (only 6 calories per stalk), and most of that is burned up through our own digestion or daily activities throughout the day. So it fills us up, and is a great addition to a healthy weight-loss journey.
