Mike helping produce an over-engineered pop punk band's songs to feel real and listenable, for a hardcore diy guy like myself, still feels good. IDK how you do it, but keep on doing. Fatty's a real one. Everything you've touched in the punk scene is better for it. No matter what the haters think.

Mike, as much as I respect how much you have broadened your horizons, the fact that you worked with a band that sounds like this is going to take some getting used to for me.... My elitist-self kicked me pretty hard while watching this. That's a ME problem, though.

I don’t see anything in this song that would keep me from releasing it if I was an artist. It’s not like they get super specific like Dom from yung blood. Yes it’s dark but it’s pretty vague. I mean totally relatable but it’s not like these descriptions through the lyrics would put anyones reputation in jeopardy.

Let’s recap… The NOFX guy calls the Goldfinger guy to see if he can co-write with a band. The Goldfinger guy says, “totally, I’ll find a band for you.” The NOFX guy meets the “band” who somehow have zero songs, yet are a band. The writing session results in a song with the same chord progression and lyrical content (and arrangement) as every other song. NOFX guy makes a video about it saying, “what a great song!” If this isn’t the most cash grabby, non-punk rock, complete cookie cutter, music industry story….what world is this?!?!

Being that John Feldmann has become known as the antithesis of how punk rock should sound when it comes to production, I'm surprised Fat Mike likes him at all. Whether it's state champs, 311, we came as romans....even blink 182 when they are pretty much a pop band at this point.... When Feldmann starts producing a band, alot of hardcore fans usually hate it. I can tell he produced this song too. It's so goddamn squeaky clean lol this bridge of this song is so bad. Ruined the song.

Been a NOFX fan since I was 12 - you guys changed my life, and I still hold the same punk values I did as a teenager. But it seems like you now treat anyone who questions authority in the same way people used to treat punks in the ‘80s and ‘90s - with judgement, disdain, and disgust. We should be the ones questioning the establishment, not mocking people who question the mainstream narratives. What happened? I really miss the days when punk bands said ‘fuck you’ to the system, and criticised people for not thinking for themselves, instead of defending the establishment like you have subtly done in this video. It doesn’t make any sense. Love you Fat Mike, and hoping things flip flop back so punks are the anti-establishment again, and not ‘republicans’ as you say here.
