Related to the last question, I believe that your gut microbiome affects your types of craving you have. When your eat mostly meat, sugar, etc. you have a certain type of microbiome that crave that type of food. When you eat mostly plants, your microbiome changes and you don't crave those types of foods anymore (or not as much).

Thats interesting!! When i was growing up my mom always prepared different types of salads or vegetables combinations, for each meal. Although we were not vegan we always consumed salads/raw vegetables. Now that i live alone and away from my parents (i am from iran and now live in europe) i have to eat salads every day and if i dont for a couple of days my body craves it so bad, i have to eat vegetables. I get vegetable cravings😂 so what you said just makes sense! And we never ate junk food at home, always clean home made food. The first time i actually started eating junk food was when i started university. And that was only a few times a month. Because my mom’s food at home was always more delicious than restaurants. Even today i enjoy home cooked food much more than restaurant foods. I guess i should be very grateful to my parents esoecially my mom. She gave us the gift of health😊

I lost 50 lb. juice fasting and eating raw. I was inspired after seeing Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. I'm actually not sure how many years ago it's been now. I think it's around 5 years, but I'm not 100% sure. When I see old pictures of myself I try not to cringe, but just be grateful for where I'm at now. Thank you both for being so inspirational.

Then years later my 1st year sustainability class in college told me what veganism was. I hadn't even heard of them before then. So I looked into it and went slowly went vegan over the following months.
